After years of using the DJ-RX2 without issue, suddenly overnight without any updates, the unit just disconnects mid-song. Any suggestions without updating the version I am using? Any ideas what could have happened overnight to cause this? What should I be looking at?

VDJ hates the XDJ series, I've had the RR, RX2 and RX3 and all have had issues in Controller mode. It's especially bad if you switch from Controller to Stand alone, getting the blue screen of death several times with the RX3.
Personally I think it's an audio clash

I have owned an RX unit since 2018. Started with the RX and an RX2 since 2021 and have used the RX3 on numerous occasions.
Never really had any issue with them disconnecting mid song. The only reason for it to disconnect would be your computer loses communication to it, this generally means the USB connection has been lost.
Maybe you have an issue with your RX unit itself?
