You said in HID mode right? How is the Phase receiver connected between the two computers? Is it connect to the back of the Rane Seventy?

TBH I always wondered about the USB Hub itself and how it switches over on the back of battle mixers. It might be that the hub only completely switches over to the new computer when both side sources are to that computer, or it may switch the port based on which computer source it is set to, so like for example, if you connected the receiver to the left port, but you switched the right deck side to be the second computer, the second computer might not see the receiver connected because the first port + source still is switched to the other computer. So like either both remotes are dedicated to one computer or the next, you can't split them.

If it is connected to one of the Rane Seventy ports, IMO, HID mode was never good for switching because of this USB hub switch behavior. I think it was moreso meant for persons to connect their own Phase to their laptop for control.
DVS mode is much better suited for switchover, because it is clear that the signal is being generated for both sides, and the source switch just directs the signal to the indicated computer for processing (just calibrate then you are ready to go), which is how it is when you are using PLX CRSS12s (the split of remote control between each computer is allowed then).

Ok word!! Switching to DVS mode fixed it 👍🏾

Good to go!! We got Joey Cool from Strange Music coming in a few weeks and I want the change over seemless as possible 🙏🏾

Yep...that is also one of the main reasons I'd probably not get the pro version (no DVS mode) 🍺.

Time to buy up a couple more sticks of the old versions while we can then I guess 👍🏾

I think MWM stated that Phase Essential is not being phased out (no pun intended), and that both it and Phase Pro are going to be around.

That's just words though, things can always change in the future so I don't blame you for doing that.
