Over time, I've realized that my questions to you probably aren't very technical! I am, after all, getting on in years (77).
But that doesn't mean I can't take advice!
I guess I didn't phrase my questions correctly!?
In that case, I'd like to ask a few more questions:
As a reminder:
I had excellent results with VD7 Skin 3.1!
I was able to seamlessly transition a song from Deck A to Deck B (no matter where) by pressing the Automatic button!
My question seems quite simple:
Which skin do I need to download to achieve the same result without having to edit an XML file or anything like that?
If none of you can help me, I'll give up!
Best regards,
Kurt

I think I remember your post, why don't you just map a key to the script
auto_crossfade 2000ms
editing a skin isn't that all difficult but if it's beyond your time/patience limit and you want that mouse click experience, then there are people will make the edits on your behalf for a beer, favour for a favour like.
I do that kind of thing, but I'll give groovinDJ first refusal since he did the v8 port.

hanks, I appreciate your quick response!
Here's my next question:
1. Where can I find a script to edit the skin?
And do I need to enter a key like "A=auto_crossfader 2000ms" in the script, or how would I write it?
As you can see, I'm no expert!
2. If you were to organize this for me, what would the beer-buying arrangement look like?

I don't think there was really any need to create a new thread for this.
As already mentioned in the first thread, the Automix button at the top of the Mix Lab skin originally was assigned mix_now
When I updated the skin, I changed it to turn the automix function on & off (because it said Automix).
Since it was first uploaded, only one other person has raised this as an issue. It's also a very old outdated skin in other respects - i.e. low resolution, so most people have moved on.
It's an easy fix, but if you send me a private message and tell me your email address, I can send you a modified file.

Dear Forum,
He's back again!
I now have a ZIP file that should help me
to use the desired "MixLab VDJ 8" skin so that a song from Deck A
to another song on Deck B is automatically switched using the Automatic button!
The ZIP file consists of 3 parts:
1. Microsoft Edge HTML document - Mix Lab 4 Eight
2. PNG file - Mix Lab 4 Eight
3. PNG file - skin preview
Some say that it's quite simple to activate such a ZIP file so that I can achieve the desired result!
When I open the graphical interface, I have two options:
1. MixLab for VDJ 8 (Mix Lab VDJ 8 edit)
2. MixLab for VDJ 8 (Mix Lab VDJ 8)
Which one do I need to activate if I want to achieve my goal?
In the Configuration's "Extensions," I clicked the install button under:
MixLab VDJ8 (DJ Format's MixLab skin updated by GROOVIN for VDJ 8), but nothing seems to be happening!
It seems like the installation worked, because instead of "Install," it says "Uninstall" in the same place!
But where did the "Install" option go?
What do I need to do with the ZIP file?
Dear forum members,
I didn't mean to give you all weekend reading, but I honestly need some help!
Thanks, DJ1948

Just replace the existing skin ZIP file with the one I sent you. No need to unzip it, or download anything from the extensions in VDJ.

Yes, but where can I find them currently available?

Find what? I sent the file to you. Put it in the skins folder.
