Hi,
I've been a VirtualDJ user since last spring or so. I use the Home license because I use VDJ to make mixes for myself, for my friends, and for small online events. I am NOT using it professionally. I do not make any money from using VirtualDJ. I am incredibly displeased with the updates to VirtualDJ. The random audio drops are incredibly annoying and ruin the experience of using the software for me. I am a college student and really cannot afford a $19/month subscription, especially for something that used to be free. I find the sudden addition of these audio drops disingenuous and shady. I understand why the decision was made, but it really ruins the experience for users that used to be able to use the software freely and now can't. Not everyone can afford the subscription among all the other subscription services that are required just to exist nowadays. It just seems like a selfish grab for money from users who didn't have to pay anything before.
I suggest removing the audio drop entirely and instead rolling back other features for Home license users, such as the pro and performance layouts, limiting number of samples, limiting library size, etc. That way you can still incentivize those who do use VirtualDJ professionally to buy the appropriate license, while not infringing on the experience of casual users such as myself. Better yet, make it so the $4/month Home license still removes the audio drop! It seems ridiculous to pay and still not have basic functionality of the software.
