Topic: CRSS12 Tempo issue
Is anybody using Virtual DJ with Pioneer Crss12? Just noticed, that tracks can't stay in sync even tempo is matched, even I do clone from deck etc.
Tried to increase timecode silence form 0.05 to 0.30 or 0.35 and more. Didn't help. Tested that in Serato and Rekordbox and didn't noticed issue.
Can't do routines if tracks can't match for more than 2 seconds.

tested with magvel clamp/needles/timecoded vinyl and with tempo reset on/off

Now im trying to play with mapping "sync & pitch +0.0010" and temporally problem is solved, but this is not how things should be
 
Is it actually not synced or is it just that the BPM readout is not equal? The CRSS12 is effectively using DVS, so you can compare to using actual timecode to see if there is a difference.
I've done DVS matches, where the decks do stay in time for quite a while (shy of a minute) without issue, but I must admit I'm not a blender, I'm very hands on, blend fairly quickly, however even within 2 seconds I'm fairly confident I don't have to adjust most times.

Things to note

  • The BPM readout may not necesarily match the actual BPM of the track

  • Sync is a one time operation and DVS adjustment of song tempo might stitll be happening.
    If you want it to stay following the master deck, you probably want to add beatlock to the mapping.
 
sorry for late response. I trying to play with that for 2 weeks, but for example if I do clone from deck with tempo reset button active on crss12 tracks still can't stay in sync for 2-5 secs. It's annoying and it didn't happen on Serato/rekordbox/algoriddim. I think its software bug, that Vdj didn't read good dvs signal, or losing it for some reason maybe :(
 
In this case I agree - what I normally notice is the behavior depends on how stable the tempo of the deck being cloned from is.

The clone takes that tempo and puts it on the other side to start - and often times it eventually gets out of alignment, even if slightly. Hitting sync at that point does improve yhe behavior a bit though. In Serato, the clone doesn't preserve the tempo, but if you clone at 0% and have the other table at zero (or pitch reset enabled) it does maintain it fairly well.
 
True and when i do routine i don’t have time to manualny match bpm when i do clone from deck witch both pitch faset clicked on tempo reset 🙈

It needs to be fixed i Think. Maybe somebody from dev team is reading this 🤝
 
For what it's worth, I experience DVS vinyl tempo drift with VDJ even when both decks are locked to 0%. Granted, this is not A purely digital system like the CRSS, but I have boosted DVS signal using mixer gains and signal quality is good according to VDJ dvs meter. However when I play aux in doubles of normal vinyl on both turntables, both tracks are in sync, so I know it's not the turntables drifting.
 
The CRSS12 is using DVS, not HID/MIDI - the table is just generating the timecode signal directly.

It's highly dependent on the state of the track when blending it. For direct mixing, when the pitch is actually matched, I've had better success with decks staying in sync for 10s of seconds without me touching it.

Clones though I've not had as great of success though (I don't clone and blend with DVS often). I've not tried pure HID/MIDI motorized platters with this, but non motorized platters definitely lock in.

Serato does have a bit of phasing going on from my trials (which means there is minor tempo fluctuations relative to each deck going on there too), but not to the extent of tracks noticeably going out of sync relative to each other.
 
I wouls like to say thanks to the devs for the DVS improvements in b9598 - it feels like there is better smoothing/I can lock a mix of two identical tracks for much longer now.
 
I have had my turntables for about 6 months. I’d say I’ve started to see the bpm issues most recently in the last month or so. The wave patterns fluctuate and when I touch the plate to get the songs to beat match the bpms go crazy and jump all over the place. Virtual DJ is fairly easier to use than rekordbox and Serato for me because of its plug and play capabilities. I’m very frustrated with virtual dj at this point
 
Not sure what the problem is.

When you touch the platter or the record, you are physically slowing down or speeding up the record playback relative to the natural speed of rotation of the turntable, so speed of the song, and hence, the BPM of the song shown in the software will change. That is also true for a non-motorized platter - you touching the jogs is trying to momentarily speed up/slow down the song, and will be reflected similarly.
