When i run your program. my CPU (via Task Manager) has burst that video lags for 1 second and then contiunes to play video. it happens about once every minuite or so. when i tried the trial version of this i did not have this problem. My CPU stays about 44 to 50% exept when the lag kicks in then it goes from 80 - 95%

Im Running (dont laugh)

Welcome DJ_Ossig,

please fill in your serial number in your profile by clicking

http://www.virtualdj.com/fusers/modifuser.html

in order to be recognized as full version user.

-----------

Try to lower "reactivity" in the settings of VDJ, maybe it will help.
Also be sure you set up INTERNAL DECODER for video files in the VDJ "extensions" settings, as external video decoders eats much more cpu than internal decoder.

Ossig,

You have to change your reactivity:

Config->General->Reactivity and select Medium or Slow and try again. Your equipment is limited to run videos properly.

Welcome as FULL user!!

Did you already change the Energy Options from the Control Panel?

Control Panel->Energy Options->Energy Combinations->DESKTOP OR OFFICE USE

Don't use the notebook profile. Use the Desktop or Office profile.

What else is running in the task manager when you get these "spikes"

When Virtual Dj is running, hit "Cntl-Alt-Del" and click on the processes. At the top, click on "CPU" column twice. This will sort the processes by their CPU usage. From there, watch and wait for the spike or lag and see what other program may be trying to access your processor... the pretty bar doesn't help as much as this. You have have some program running you weren't aware was, for example I use OODefrag and that loads up a process that runs in the background.

Try this:
Start Menu/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance
System
Advanced
Under Performace click Settings button
Advanced
Under Virtual Memory click Change
Select Each Drive one by one and for each drive choose System Managed Drive and click Set button.
Scroll through your drives again to make sure that you have done this for each.
Click Okay three times and you can then close out your control panel window.
Reboot and try VDJ again.

If this doesn't work try running msconfig and under the General tab and the Selective Startup radio button UNclick Load Startup Items.
Reboot and try VDJ again.
