The more I read this forum the more I get confused :)

I really like the Hercules Console but, like others, sometimes a jogwheels goes crazy and start spinning forward like hell....
Maybe I will send it back to Hercules to get a replacement...
In that case do I send it back to Hercules or to retailer ?

In the meantime can I disable the wheels with the mapper software ?
Anybody succeeded in this. (NOT by disabling Console and using MIDI) ?

Too bad this tiny problem has big consequences...
You really feel like a jerk when this happens in front of a few hundred people... :)

You just have to spin the wheels in order to stop them think they are spinning.

Or you can just remove the jogwheels. It's only plastic piece put on the metal stick.
Just pull it up.

So the bug only happens when accidentally touching a jog wheel ?
(not by itself) ?

i think it's the matter of the tolerance.
You are not touching the jogwheel but there are is a state when
hercules reads jogwheels and because of tolerance it gets different values.
(maybe vibrations, but i got in even in quiet environments) so even if it's not spinning
hercules gets different values from optical sensors.

If you remove the jogs, it should be ok. The optical sensors will be always lighted up,
and nothing (the teeths of jogwheel) will shadow it. so it should alway get same values.

You mean physically removing them or disabling it by software ?

to physically pull up the plastic you are touching
you won't loose warranty

you are also able to remove the knobs, but i don't think it's necessary.
