This was really weird, but the wave form wasn't in sync with the song. The wave form still moved with the music, it just wasn't quite in the right place. I had been listening to a song and then had the computer in standby (obviously not at a gig). Later when I was listening to it again, the wave form was nearly two beats off. I checked another song on the other desk, and same thing. After restarting the program, I had no problem at all.

For some people this happens 24/7 due to lack of resources, but altering the reactivity can solve this, and/or useing smaller files.
In your case, it was just the problem that VDJ has when it's been open too long and not used, seems to fall asleep so to speak.
