Hi,

Before I purchase the U46DJ, can anyone tell me how it's sound output is?
Does it play as loud as a CD player or does it suffer from the same problems as the HErcules?

If it has a low output, what would be a good card with a regular output?

On the same note, is the Numark Virtual Vinyl soundcard better or the same quality as the U46?

Seems pretty standard to me. I have the gain on the external mixer at the same as what the CDJs are on, so I'd say yes, it's as loud as a cd player.

I know the team strongly reccommends the U64DJ... but is there something better at a higher price range?

I'm not necessarily looking to spend more :), but I don't mind putting in a few extra hundred bucks if there is a better card out there.
 
I use it too, I'd say it sounds perfect cause I play side by side with a buddy of mine who uses cd players(Denons 5000's) and it sounds perfect. We hook both our mixers, which are denons to the same amp, different channels. No one can tell the difference. Now this was before 4.0. So obviously with 4.0 it'll be even better. About better cards, I don't know cause I can't compare it to any other card, it's the only one I have. Plus it's very stable. No complaints here. VDJ4.0, TCV, U46DJ = one happy customer.
 
U46dj is the best low-priced card, semi-pro range.
Works great.

Of course there are better cards that costs more, but for mp3 mixing with VDJ I think U46dj will do you good;)

its a good card... hardware preamp, pretty good bypass, works great with vdj.
 
@DJRaz, just wondering. What r the specs on your pc/laptop? What r u planning to do? TCV's, TCCD's, Video?
 
I'm Not planning on using TCVs, TCCDs or Videos right now.

I just need a better soundcard than HDJC that has numerous outputs.

My specs are:
IBM T42, 1 Gig of RAM

Well I just got my u46DJ :)

The output is at least twice as strong as the HDJC, even with all of HDJC's output settings set to max.

It's too bad for HDJC because the pitch control was really useful.

On another note, do you guys run the u46 at 48khz or 44khz, and is there a diff?
 
you can still use the Hercules, as a controller only.
And run the sound through the U46dj ;)

Use 44.1 as most if not all mp3's are encoded in 44.1.
Else resampling is needed.
