Topic: Virtual DJ ver. 4.0 doesn't recognize my Timecoded Vinyl? - Page: 1

Ok so I have two turntables and a mixer all hooked up right. NOW before the upgrade I had them kind of working, well at least vdj heard the sounds coming from the time coded vinyl. Now with ver 4.0 its not hearing any sound.

My mixer has a master output which I have the RCA (Red and White) cord going from there to my Maya44 sounds card. The wire is plugged into Channel 1 & 2. If one deck is to go to each Channel ( Deck 1 - Channel 1 & 2 and Deck 2 Channel 3 & 4) how do I achieve this with only one master output?

I am really getting more and more confused with this whole setup. The instructions on this site are ok, but even they are a little blurry.

I also have a USB mixer, do I need to use that mixer instead? But the USB cords dont connect to my Maya44 sounds card they connect to the computer it self.

So where am I going wrong? What am I missing? Someone please help, thank you sooo much.

Rich :) aka DJ Double Threat

PS What do I only hear sound coming out of my sound card? I cant hear music coming out of my mixer when I attach my head phones, thats the other issue I have.

the outputs from your turntables should be going to the MAYA inputs(1,2 for 1 TT and 3,4 for the other TT). Then the outputs on the maya go to your mixer inputs. The master output of your mixer is to hook to your amplifier or powered speakers. Someone has areally good example on thier blog. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Here is the link

Don't use the Y splitters between the turntables and the mixer unless you intend to use both regular vinyl as well as TCCV. Follow the lines from the TT to the Maya soundcard and the rest is the same.

Hope this helps

OK so I did this, hooked up my turntables to my sound card and the sounds card outputs go to my mixer. But still nothing. I have a USB mixer (outputs) should I use those too?

My Maya44 sound card is not a USB one. Does that make a difference. This is seriously getting annoying. Why is this so hard to use?

Help anyone, please

Rich :)

Is it that you're not getting a Timecode signal? Check the gain in the asio configurations. For some reason it was set a default to zero for me and took me a little while to notice when I switched to V4

Isnt there an AutoAdjust Button in VDJ4 ? When calibrating TCV's i mean ?
Getting myself V4 soon , going with 3.2 atm ..

Yeah there is no signal. VDJ doesnt recognize the signal. And I put the gains up higher, they were at 0 but now I have them at around 24.

What else is going on?

I can only speak from the Maya USB perspective - so does the Maya PCI card also use the Maya Control Panel interface? If so, are the Input Channels 1-4 muted? If not, then check the Mute for the inputs. Does that help?

thats the weird thing, non of the inputs are muted. I do get a ERROR IN THE ASIO SOUND DRIVER message.

Whats that mean, and how do I fix it?

OK dumb question, but do the "ground" connections need to be connected?

Again from the maya usb standpoint, you want the inputs muted (I hope I'm not wrong as I don't have it in front of me at the moment) and outputs on about 3/4. The error message is critical and means you need to reinstall the drivers. The ground connections should be grounded to the computer but I don't think that's your problem.

just reinstall all drivers, but firts of all unistall them all and erase all the registres on start menu/run/regedit/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software , and then reinstall all the drivers again, everything shoul be fine now, I got the same problem with my bcd2000 and I did all that and now Everything woks greath.

I hoppe that work's for you

I've heard that maya44 pci doesn't work well in asio mode, get the esiu46dj it works fine for tcvs use, regards.
