I just got VDJ 4 and am learning to use it through this forum, however, I want to connect it to an external mixer (Yamaha MG 166) and am at a total loss! Any help (in layman's terms) would be appreciated!

What kind of computer and/or soundcard are you using? Connecting a mixer to your computer depends on whether you use a soundcard or not. I'll give you my setup to use as an example. I have a laptop and a Maya 44USB external soundcard. It has 4 in and 4 out. I use the 4 out to connect to my external mixer (ch1 left + right & ch2 left + right). You choose the external mixer configuration in VDJ4 and keep the software's crossfader in the middle. You will use your external mixer's crossfader for mixing.
