I just scanned my HD to get my songs from my C drive to the Local DB. It seems VDJ moved all my files and are now GONE from my C drive.

are these placed in a VDJ folder somewhere .. years of music gone !!@ help

When scanning the HD to build the database VJ only reads the files. It doesn't move anything.

Sorry, but it can't happen as you describe it....

Well this is what exactly happened.

I did scan local HD
it listed all my tracks in the Local DB file folder in VDJ
I didnt like how they were no longer in folders
So I selected all and deleted
VDJ sent all files in the local DB to my recycle folder
I went into my recylce bin and 5000+ songs were there . I was scared
So immediately I selected all and hit restore all file
But they were NO longer in the folders on my C drive
They were still in the local DB but now said error when playing or could not find
I did a re-scan and the files were not there

I just dont know .. luckily I have all my vinyl and song up to summer on DVD but still $$ and time gone

I guess im an isolated case/

Love VDJ .. but will never use HD scan - until I know what happend

It is because you selected the files and told VDJ to DELETE them.
If you want to clear the database next time. Right click on the 'Local Database' in the left nav panel, and choose 'Delete' that way. That method only clears the database file.
What you did was told VDJ to delete the files - no delete the database.

Schooling --
VDJ database is a running list. It will not display the tracks in folders.
If you want to see your stuff in a folder method, you must make those folders 'Favorites'
Read the User guide - it will explain and it is very easy.

Doesn't know how to use the program, that's the problem. Your eyes are getting crossed even further.
