If you have will for something, you can achieve it, mixing isn't the hardest thing in the world, learn the theory behind it, learn about music, practice all time, and never stop trying new things, at the beggining, mix songs that are easiest for you.., then, when you pick up more skill and ear for music, mix those songs that you were afraid of, you might not be awsome on them, but you'll notice you've improved alot...
Just keep trying new things, whether a begginer or advanced..

You can turn down the "kick" (assuming you mean kick drum or bass drum) by lowering the EQ for bass on one of the songs, when beatmixing

i'll just get some other BPM programs

Yeah, I have to be honest, i've used many bpm calculation softwares, and VDJ's current system is pretty flawless.
But a degree of common sense is needed, for example: too half a bpm for a pop song if it appears as 170bpm.
If you check over all your files and think to yourself "is it realistic?", then 99% of your tracks should be accurate.
