Ok my Mk2 is fairly new so how quick & why could it broke? It worked just fine for few weeks but now I can't hear the sound through my speakers anymore. It just stopped to play the sound. I've tried both RCA and Minijack output for speakers but nothing. What could be the cause for this? I've even tried to re-install the drivers twice but nothing.. I've got some shitty logitech speakers. I can still hear the sound with PC's own soundcard but MK2 only works through headphones, Both in VirtualDJ or without it. No sound from speakers. is my MK2 broken? :(

Yes the speakers work fine. I can hear the music through them with my soundcard in PC. I've also tried disabling my other soundcard. Thought if it creates somesort of conflict with the MK2. Still didn't work. and yes MK2 is chosen as a main soundcard. Maybe the Outputs have somehow broken? I guess that's not very common. Or is it? I have tried to figure this out for almost a week now, and nothing. Fortunately I still have my Warranty for Mk2..

a "config wizard" would test the mk2 and tell the user if the sound card is damaged.

hardware faults are in alot of cases are hard to detect by software
windows even struggles
when a device fails it often the pc wont turn on or "un recognised device " pops up or you get blue screens of death
aslo i think if such a tool was made it would be the resonsiblity of the card maker as they have all the technial data of what their drivers contain ect

there are 3 items i would check if i were you.
1. volume slider in windows, mk2, and vdj
2. the "performances" tab in vdj
3. actual cables
here is my solution.
set windows default sound card to Hercules DJ Console MK2
start > settings > control pannel > sounds and autio devides properties >audio >Hercules DJ Console MK2
can you hear it on the mk2 does it work?
open up the mk2 controller.
make sure the mk2 is in "wdm" mode
volume vertical slider for chan 1-2 and 3-4 are all the way up.
volume horizontal slider for chan 1-2 and 3-4 are in the middle.
test audio
start > settings > control pannel > sounds and autio devides properties > sound >
windows has lots of sounds played here and there, test one of the sounds.
mk2 hardware
test sound with headphones.
plug headphones to the back minijack 1-2. "test"
plug headphones to the back minijack 3-4. "test"
any progress?
open vdj
set volume on everything to max
"config" or settings > sound setup
inputs: none
outputs: single output
sound card: hercules mk2
"config" or settings > performances
presets: fastest
sound card : latency : auto
disable safe mode and disable overlock
this should do it
search, find, load, play, music

i forgot this one other reason.
try pluging in the hercules mk2 to a different usb slot.
let windows recognize and install the new hardware.
i know this solution cause me a huge headache.

Darn.. I tried all of the things you guys said above.. just won't work.. maybe the outputs are broken because it used to work.. Guess I'll have to send it back for warranty and wait for a new one. :( Thanks for trying to figure this out tho..
