Topic: Video Pros ... I Need Help

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi guys here's the issue I'm having and need some help figuring this out.

Setup is I'm going from s video on the laptop (nvidia 256mb card) into a video switcher. I convert it from s video to rca into one switcher and directly S video into another mixer when I'm at a different bar.

No matter which way I do it the following is happening.

When playing a video in deck 1 as soon as I start anoher video in deck 2 you can see deck 2 bleeding in over deck 1. The same thing happens when going from deck 2 to deck 1.

I have activate checked and use vide hardware acceleration checked and use window is selected. When I select my Nvidia card I then see that on my main laptop monitor and not the vdj software. When I have the 2 videos playing at the same time (mixing) the bleeding of the other video occurs there too.

I'm wondering if I'm having some sort of issue with the graphics card. I would really like to be able to mix videos back to back instead of song video and song again.

Thanks for your help in helping me resolve this.

ahhh no I do not. How do I get it without doing the validation? I'm guessing to do the validation I have to put my laptop online and I do not want to do that. I have not downloaded any windows related updates since my original install because the audio portion and software has worked flawlessly so I didn't want to risk messing that up.I will get the directx update and try that. thanks...I know squat when it comes to video because that part is all new to me.thanks again. will post results.

There have been a lot of improvements in DirectX since the first version of DirectX 9.0c in summer 2004 ;-)

Maybe it's not the solution but it's one of the step to solve it. The second step is to see with your video drivers.

is 9.0c not the latest one? I just unzipped the dxwebsetup and it said 9.0c redistributable.

Hey buddy, I think personally that you do not have aq hardware problem, I think that you have the video slider in the middle. That is what it is supposed to do. The video slider is the slider located under the video tab in VDJ. Move it to the left of right to go from one video to another. Also under the "config tab" (top right) click it. There is video settings located in here, top right there is a link sliders option you can check or un-check. The main slider in the program will blend the videos too if this is checked.

Ahhhhhhhh! That would be sweet!

Yes I keep the crossfader in the middle because I use an external mixer. Under the Video tab and in Options I have "Linked crossfaders" checked. I will uncheck this and give it a shot tonight at the club.

I'll post the results of my find!

Just to add....I did upgrade my NVidia driver to the latest release (the one on their website) and that did not solve my problem but it caused an additional problem. For some reason the video was clear in the upper half of the tv plasma screens but the bottom half was video trash so I "rollback" the driver and I was back to where I was, so again I'll uncheck the "Linked crossfaders" and see if that clears it up! Gosh I hope it does!

Thanks again that was not a setting I had tinkered with!

Ohh oopps.

I have the AUDIO cross fader in the middle because I use an external mixer.

The VIDEO crossfader (knob) is to the left (deck 1) and when I start playing a video in Deck 2 that video starts bleeding over Deck 1 EVEN with the video crossfader still on Deck 1 and not straight up 12 o'clock.

It could be the transition you have selected. Try one like cut and see if there is any bleed.

Also make sure you do not have the transition on auto. Click the tab, so it is not lit (green). When it is lit, you start the other video, and it will start to transition, but will not complete until the first video has stopped.

Well here's the verdict from last night...

No change!

It's like I need 2 separate video outputs! I can have the video crossfader on the left deck with just an audio track playing. As soon as I load a video in Deck 2 the video appears on my monitor in the dj booth and if I had it switched to the projector it would appear on there. I'm guessing this shouldn't be happening because I have the video crossfader selected for Deck 1. I should be seeing a black picture on my monitor right? I've messed around with video before in running cameras, switchers, etc.

This is just really frustrating. It's like I can't do any real video mixing just a song then a video then another song.

Are you sure that you are set up for dual output? I would like you to try this without the switcher. At home, connect the s video out, to a s video input TV. This has to be hooked up before you boot. Boot your machine, configure your display for dual output, either in windows or the video card menu. In VDJ, configure for your video card. Play a video in each player. Make sure the transition is not set to auto. If you click on a preview, it will switch to that side. You should also see this on the TV. Let us know what happens.

I think you need to configure your Nvidia displays. You should have your external (s-video) display set as your secondary display and activated in 'extended desktop' mode. This way, you will be able to see the full screen video output on the external display and you won't have to use 'window' mode for the video output. Window mode is much slower especially when a wndow from teh prmary display is dragged to the secondary display. This may account for the bleeding, but it still doesn't really make sense. I think you shoudl also try reinstalling your video drivers and/or set all video driver performance settings back to defaults.

I hope this helps, but let us know if you still have problems.
