We might be talking at cross purposes. I usually flip the track into the deck then prelisten using the cue button on a typical dj mixer. That's just the natural way for an old DJ like me who always chucked a piece of vinyl on a deck for a listen, then put another on if I didn't like that one.
It's just that with the VCI-100 has buttons that can be mapped to the cue facility on VDJ, so you can listen through your headphones if you are using a dual soundcard in internal mixer mode.
Seems to work OK that way too.

Dido on that.. This always ends up with my computer locking up and would love to have a fix for,,
I pre-listen by right click on the title in the record case and select listen..

an VCI-100 mapping would be great to test out vdj with this nice controller!
