I think it can by typing .exe bihind your file name and it chances itselfe. For example skin1 > skin1.exe

Windows by default has "Do not show extention for known files" activated.
So it doesnt help that you write ZIP or EXE at end of known files...
Go to "folder options" in Windows, and uncheck the hide extention setting, before you try a rename.
and its EXE not ZIP, for the skin install file

Sorry my bad. I forgot to change the extension from .zip to .exe in the addon manager after adding the automatic installer. Anyway the problem is fixed, and didn't last for too long.
