Topic: Anybody Have Comments/ Experiance With Behringer b212a? - Page: 1

Dieser Teil des Themas ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten

I'm trying to upgrade my sound system, both for mobile DJ'ing and for band play with a budget of $600. I noticed the behringer b212a speakers seem to stay pretty high on musicians friend and all the reviews there seem to be positive, although not many are from DJ's. I'm considering this package http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-UB1832FXB212A-PA-Package?sku=630287 because it seems suited for both of those needs I have (can leave the main board at home for dj'ing and bring it for band play), plus the board is the next step up from the one I already have which would really help me out when it comes to recording. I also looked at a Phonic system, but I don't know anything about them.

What do ya think?;^]

I second that ;)

@Sky & Alf

Not all behringer audio gear are bad.. example the xenyx series, it is good, I use the xenyx 1832fx , ultramizer pro dsp1424p , composer pro-xl mdx2600, ultrafex pro ex3200 and ultragraph pro fbq3102 but yah the behringer "dj" gear is a bit down to me tho. I would advise stay clear too.

@timmy.

do some more researched on it b4 u buy.. cos to me behringer is not that bad to its audio component only some;) And yes it is cheaper than others high end products but to me is how u maintained n use them..Think wisely:)..

P.S: It no point if u buy expensive product and not use its full features.. buy within ur reach n maintained it well:) It should be ok.

I\'ve had pretty good luck with behringer so far, which is why I\'m considering this package the most. I\'ve owned a behringer vmx 100 and a behringer A/B stompox, and still own a eurorack 1222fx pro & none of them ever gave me problems. I\'m still reasearching and shopping around of course, this is just the best deal I\'ve seen so far for a brand I semi trust;^]

I purchased to Behringer B215A. They are awesome and well worth the $250 ea. The sound quality is as good as the JBL. I don't use them that often though so reliability wise I couldn't tell you. I have used them for about 10 shows right now and theyre doing pretty good.

Hey Timmy... let me know if you purchase them. I was looking into getting them as well. I actually heard them at Sam Ash and they sounded pretty good with the Mackie Sub Woofer. I'll probably purchase one within the month and see how it goes from there.

While I can appreciate the cost factor on their gear, I own a pair of B300's which have blown 2 amps and a power supply.
While I did fix them, I am scared to death to ever use them in public.
I use them in my wide screen room for sound.

If you're gonna buy a mixer, get one with a replacable fader.
Not that its gonna wear out, but once contaminated they are impossible to clean.
Had a 12 channel line mixer go out this way.
Bought Pioneer djm 3000 and what a difference.

You have to look at this from a long term investment point of view, and it's never a problem until its a problem and you know when that happens its not purdy.

The other thing is support.

I would stick with major brands like Mackie, JBL, Yamaha, to name a couple.
Personally I have always used Yorkville sound.
I have had 2 problems, I blew a 10" cone (not a voice coil, but ruined the paper from overdriving it) and had a short in another and that was out of 10 speakers, all of which to this day I use.
They were right there when I needed support, and that counts.
So consider this when the time comes.

My fave's are JBL's anyway

@Timmy,

Haven't seen you post in a long time, how are you doin. been busy. Thats package looks OK, it's a start, just do as spinnaJ says and look after it and it should be fine and dandy. Maybe in a few months when you've got some more cash behind you, you can upgrade.

Thanks, I been pretty caught up in life in the city again since I moved last month (and man it feels good to be out of mayberry..lol). Unfortunatly because of it I've had to put off upgrading my sound system as I'm still paying off the deposit for the apartment in instalments. Oh well though, next gig I know for sure I have isn't until patties day & I'll be using the clubhouse system for that one. After that I've got my parents anniversery, but that's not 'till summer;^]

Glad to hear you're OK. Horrible isn't it doing all that grown up stuff, lol

Have you had a good House warming party yet, Don't know if that's what you call it in the states.

Jimmy b

lol.. Not really big enough for a house warming party, it's just a single room efficiancy apartment. Kinda feels like that episode of Flight Of The Chonchords where Jermain got a janitors closet for an apartment..lol. It works tho, cleaning takes minutes and best of all I'm downtown right up the street from the library, court square and main street (small club);^]

Nice one dude. Enjoy

Hey Timmy If you need some extra cash why not approach some of the larger Mobile companies in your area about sub-contracting?

I sub-Contract for 3 Companies as well as doing my own advertising. (I'm still in my first year as an independant)

2 I get a flat rate for the night (and Use my own gear and licensing)
1 I get 50% of the total invoice (and still my own gear and licensing)

You make some nice contacts for net-working purposes (used gear/cheaper rentals in case yours goes down) and you make some extra grease on the side.

Hopefully this helps.

I dont care what anyone says, The Behriger 212A and 215A are awesome. I have a pair of each, I use them for main speakers and for monitors. I DJ 4 to 5 nights a week and they dont quit. Plus you can go by a junk bottom line JBL (I do like JBL, but not the bottom line powered ones) But the Behringer has full seperate EQ for bass and highs, they take 1/4 inch or XLR input, and have an XLR out to piggyback them. The bottom line JBLs dont have any of that and they are double the price!!! Bottom line if you are on a budget there is no reason to not go with Behringer powered speakers, they do very well for me and 2 other DJs I know.

DJ on a budget??? Save your money and buy a good brand name equipment the first time. I have seen so many DJs buy crap equipment and then have to go buy decent stuff when the crap blows up. Why buy equipment twice??? Trust me you havent saved anything...

How can you possibly compare JBL to Behringer? Why would you possibly consider Behringer having an advantage over JBL because of a EQ.
JBL is pro gear and they expect you send the speaker a properly processed signal to them VS Mickey Mousing your sound with bass and treble knobs.

Obviously you are blind. I have blown up 2 pairs of the botom line JBLs, yet the behringers are still going and have a lot more fuctions. I have been doing this for 14 years and I know my equiptment. Buy your bottom line JBL and that leaves me more money to spend on my music. I used my speakers 5 nights a week and not one problem.

You are probably one of those people that buys pioneer and JBL to call yourself a DJ.

I have the B212A's I personally like them. So far i haven't had a problem using them. For the price you can't beat em

I was looking at those for blowing up my neighborhood and playing friends parties. All the reviews I read gave good marks. When I get ready to buy this will be the package I pickup. Maybe, one day when my primary career is DJing then I will drop some $$ on superior pro gear. For starters this looks great.

Man i tell you what. i picked up a set of TAPCO THUMPS (MADE BY MAKIE) and they sound really sweet.very clear highs,mids and yes they thump. although, i'm not going to work mine hard on the bass. I have subs for that. These do sound better than the jbl eons got mine for $562 shipped from boyton audio. every body wants $349 free shipping.

check out reviews here http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Thump/
