Topic: Generic 5.1/7.1 USB sound device support.

Gang -

I bought a simple 5.1 usb sound device. It works great multi channel mode (4 outputs) but the 5.1 does not.

It does not have drivers - just uses default WDM. Is there a trick to making the 3rd set of outputs come alive?

Try in Control Panel>Sounds>Audio>Advanced and set 5.1 mode. But if it does not work, that means that you need drivers. Try to find out which audio chipset it uses, maybe you can find similar device and drivers for it ;)
 
I think I found the problem - Just swapping around jacks fixed it. But.... VDJ goes loopy w/ 5.1 mode and the simple usb device. So I stick w/ 4.1
