Whats the actual error?

If it's regarding a missing file, I'd recommend updating your DirectX 9 runtime to the latest version :)

It just cames up with

"Error in DirectX" in a little error box when I first opened VDJ5 and it has popped up 5 times whilst playing.

Where do I go to update DirectX 9 runtime, the microsoft website ???

Jimmy b

Downloaded the latest version of DirectX 9 runtime and installed, from the Microsoft website.

Just messing around with something else at the mo, will try to see if the error is sorted later if I got time.

No Luck,

This is the error I get "Error in the sound driver of DirectX"

Can anybody help me please.

Jimmy b

I had that happen and It was because I installed a video card and it chenged some of my default settings.

Check your soundcard settings in control panel and in VDJ.

try mk2 in wdm mode..

Go to herc sound control n choose wdm

n in setting of vdj
input: none
output: headphones
sc.. mk2

see if that helps..

Thanks spinnaJ

Changed my herc settings as you describe,

When I open VDJ 5 with my Herc plugged in I don't get the error, It seems fine.

Without the Herc I get the error, So it seems to be a fault with my onboard sound of my Laptop if you get what I mean.

get the asio4all for ur soundcard if next time u need to use timecode. Actually with ur mk2 card, u won't really need this:)

dl the v2.6 ,it the most stable so far..

There is no faulty on ur onboard sound :)

Got it I think spinnaJ

In the Sound set up in config of VDJ, without my herc connect I had no so Soundcard highlighted. So I clicked on Primary sound Driver, then closed VDJ.

I re opened VDJ and got no error.

Fingers crossed I've sorted it.

you will get the error message vdj is just telling you to change sound settings so you can hear it without herc just reset to single output, sound/ simple and use pc/lappy sound card...

I was going to say the same thing...LOL

hehe

Hi there..
I'm getting the same DirectX error on my new laptop.
I'm not using any timecode CD's.
I usually plug the phono-RCA cables from the sound card straight to the mixers.

I just changed to this Dell XPS laptop running Vista.
Bought a new Maya44 USB Soundcard for this.
Previously i was using a Creative PCMCIA external sound card on a Lenovo no problems.

I've got VDJ Version 5 installed. It's running the latest DirextX 10.
I play a song and the screen display just doesn't move.
I can't mix any songs, I can't hear any sound.

Help! I got a gig in two weeks time at a big club. :s

Thanks!
