I know many different users use VirtualDJ in many different ways: autoplay, VideoDJ, scratch, weddings, home,...
but some time ago I saw an interesting thing in Holland. They used an entertainment rig (19" rack on wheels) for different purposes.
They had software on it and a touchscreen, with an onscreen keyboard popping up when they touched the search button on the screen.
At home, I tried using a touchscreen with VirtualDJ, and it worked well. I have a 19" computer (server rack type) backup, but I keep using the laptop because of the need of a keyboard. Keyboard drawers and stuff are ok, I know they exist, and I've used them;
But like the mobile rig in Holland, that's A plus. Connect it to a wall outlet, XLR's to your speakers and go. For the sound part of a standard gig anyway. ;-)
