Thanks DJ Cyder, and if they do agree and give the go ahead. I would be one of the first ones to order a pair. I'm in the process of setting my decks back up after a house move and I'll need some TCV soon.

The thing about colored vinyls is no one likes the same color, I brought this up last year. Some said in California you may be killed for using a red or blue record to dj with. Then someone said what about clear.
I brought that up and a few others agreed on that thread I referenced on the first page of his thread. Getting "killed" was not ever said, but we were just making sure that "balance" was needed to avoid trouble and appeal to everyone.
After addressing that issue, it was pretty unanimous that Black (standard), Clear (see through for custom slip mats), Red (Atomix color branding), and Blue (for the balance and broader appeal we spoke of) would be the best options.

Hehe ;)
BTW, I've been doing the switch to TCV and promoting turntables too for the year and a half that I've been on these forums. ;)
Myself and DJ Marcel 1 had some * cough * fun * cough * awhile back debating the "death of the turntable" (lol!) about a year ago: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/62276/General_Discussion/Why_Turntables_are_having_they_re_last_Gasp_in_a_digital_world.html?highlight=death%20turntable

Damn, I was born and raised in LA, if someone kills you because of your vinyl, I get the sense they were going to kill your ass before they seen the color of your vinyl. I can see it now "Sup cuz, you got any of that Justin Timberlake ish?!....O'h snap WTF?? You rocking red vinyl, you getting blasted DJ."

Right, and my crew (and affiliate crews) hail out of Carson.
Thats's why I wanted to clarify that no one ever said that they'll get "killed" as Cyder said and/or misinterpreted.
However denying that there may be conflict in the wrong circumstances (go ahead, bring red vinyl to an S.O.S. party on Susan St. or blue vinyl to a gig for Scottsdale Piru, both in C-Arson and within 5 minutes of eachother) would be irresponsible.
I'm just saying that we need to make sure that we don't end up with only red or blue vinyl, or even labels. Both would be cool though.
Black is obviously safe and so is clear. I had even mentioned that "neutral/safe" colors like green or yellow (not too worried about Latin Kings here in the West =P) would be good alternatives as well.
I'm not trying to be trivial daguirre10, I just want to make sure that everyone in our community is happy... and safe. ;)
That said... COLORED VINYL? BRING IT ON!!! =D

Don't you guys think they should at least perfect the availability and quality of the Gen 3 tcv's before getting all fancy. No point of selling warped colored vynil.

Mantahoe,
so we should scrap the whole project then? If you have a problem with your vinyls please don't hesitate to tell us about it

Giving out black eyes on the forum isn't the good way to get problems resolved. Its equally disappointing coming from a vip member as well. The quality and availability in the US/Canada is fine and soon we are to launch them worldwide. When the new systems are in place why shouldn't we offer a colored version? Look I really don't have time for ego's and agendas so please if you don't have anything constructive to input have the decency to respect a users wish. Which to me doesn't look to be that far away from coming true.

hahaha...Mantahoe
you right, imagine a clear or red vinyl with of center hole, that's going to be really atractive...
really ??? good quality in US/Canada ?
I'm being pushing this thing in the past thread alot and nothing happend.

Really, the bad quality vinyl is a thing of the past, since the generation 3's came out to be exact. New ones are currently being pressed in the UK identical to the quality of the us market ones. I personally saw through each phase of the development and was personally responsible for the design and execution of these 3rd generation vinyls.

Where did all this come from. What black eyes? What Egos? So because i'm VIP i'm not supposed to say what I feel? Man, you need to take it easy.
If that's the case, why is it soo hard to answer this simple question?

You and me both Funky. ;)
Hard to believe that that was almost a year ago.
You know the old turntablist saying though, "time flies when you're waiting for colored vinyl." =P
Seriously though, I think that TCV's have been thrust into the spotlight for the better part of this year, especially since Virtual Vinyl was released on March 28th (a few months after that thread I referenced that we were discussing color vinyl at the beginning of the year).
Cyder has already stated what needs to be done minimally by us, create the demand. I believe the demand is there now much more than it was in January.
That combined with the fact that hopefully Numark may very well step in and demand custom vinyl options to stay competitive with SSL may be a HUGE step forward towards getting what we want... nay... need! =)

The quality of the tcv's are great. no problems, no worries
Not for nothing but if you look on the ssl forum you can find complaints about warped tcv too

Vinyl is vinyl and if it gets warped and wonky then it probably happened during shipping, and if that happens contact support and it will be taken care. I know all VDJ vinyl before shipping is checked and in excellent condition.
As for demand, I know things will pick up, but VDJ has many more was its used and timecode use is sort of a minority vs. SSL which ir primarly TCV and cd's, althought it does have an internal mode for emergencies.
