Topic: Database search V5.5 not showing everything

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I'm just starting to use V5.5 but my problem is probably very simple...

I have over 35,000 karaoke songs on one of my many hard drives but when I search in VDJ I only see about 1215 Karaoke songs on one of the hard drives that has about 15,000. I created a filter to search everything but I know that not all vids, karaoke and possibley all mp3s are showing in the filter folder I created. In 4.3 doing a search of "local database" shows everything good. What do I need to do to create a filter folder to show everything on all my harddrives? I used the command "isscanned=0 or isscanned=1" in my filter folder as I thought that would show everything. I also have ticked Show Video, Show Music & Show Karaoke in the bullseye in the Browser.

I recursed each harddrive and that seemed to work. Do I need to do that each time I add new songs in V5.5?

No..you should not have to recurse at all.

try these settings.

The "Add automatically" is a good move, because all the new stuff will be added. You will just have to analyze. I would uncheck the items in the browser, that you do not use. Why have Napster show up, if you don't use it?

TearEmUp
Why would the "read id tags, artist" be disabled?
I thought they were to enabled in order to read everything properly.

Those settings were changed with the v5r5 update..I tried it for a few days..works just fine. So I never changed them back....also you need to set up your browser here to show file path and file name. Once that was done this puppy works like a charm.

@AMaHm....that was defaulted on..never turned it off...no reason..just lazy I guess...

I too am having this issue, two searches i did the other night I KNEW i had, but would not show up in search, they they have both been added before, and played many times. One was actually played the night before!

Only after browsing to the folder the files are in, does search then show the file & show the fact that the file is scanned and part of the database, after browsing away from the location folder, the file still appears.

I'm still having the same problem... I set it up as per the instructions given above but 2 nights ago I had to go to the folder and manually recurse it so the songs would show up in my search. Any other ideas or am I missing something? Thank god I still have 4.3 installed. Can that be the problem?? Lately, I have needed to switch back to 4.3 as I have been having a few issues with 5.5...

i'm having the same problem, i noticed it when searching for selectmix. i have over 500 selectmix files that normally show up after i recurse, but if i close the program and reopen it i have 3 selectmix songs show up. HELP.

Ok I'll find the real story. Strangely I had the same issue at a gig on the weekend. Song didnt show up in any of the searches I did until I was in the specific folder of the song. Weird....

This is similiar to what I am experiencing .... I was advised to go back to 4.2 VDJ, which has served me quite well for over a year and a half. When i transferred my karaoke files to my new computer and then selected my karaoke folder as a favorite... I then recursed (it took close to 5 to 7 mins , when it took less than a min on my older much slower computer.... and then after recursing the karaoke folder... it only showed three disc in my karaoke search.... yet when I went to local database ... all the karaoke files are there.

I don't understand yet see I"m not the only one... any thoughts would be appreciated. Michael
I started another thread Something fishy with Database.

I have over 100,000 karaoke songs and not all the songs show up I have found if i use the CD numbers like CB6003-01 it finds it that way

Try that

I had this problem also I never did get to the bottom of it, I remember thinking that it was something to do with using an ext hd. I bought a new computer anyway and went up a rev to 6 and it was sorted.

Could not play auld langs syne come 12 on NYE because of it, Imagine that.
