with all problem people run into with use of vritual dj, i've decided to open a class dedicated to help vdj users learn to become a professional dj with use of vdj.

I can probably help with teaching the actual classes if you want. I have experience teaching as I used to voluntarily teach computer graphics classes in spanish for blue collar workers (mostly immigrants) to help them get out of those jobs and get work in computer fields.
Let me know djkz.

terrific,
i plan to have the class(s) in my backyard; plenty of room there.
every one will bring in their own gear, and away we'll go.
admission: free
requirements: computer with virtual dj software installed.
we'll first take a look at the basic features such as loops, sounds effects, cue, beat matching, etc.
after that, we'll take it up a notch by introducing scratching techniques designed for use with virtual dj.
we have 3 people so far, ConQuest, alphaquake, and djkz(me).. who else wants to attend?

Dude- be a businessman and charge like 5.00 per perpson per class. Have your setup and if the person wants to bring his own set up then he can. You would get more people attending due to the enterest in DJing and working with VDJ would be a plus. By charging you would show your professionalism and seriousness. Plus if something should go bad then your covered financially. People take things more serious when their vested in it somehow. Plus if a person brings thier setup then your may be proned to answering technical questions that would take away from the class. You can have each person demonstrate the lession and if you something is not done right you know your own system to resolve why something is not working as it should. Maybe the other person doesn't have enough memory and it would take away from the persons ability to learn. Or if the person wants to learn to dj but doesn't have a complete system yet. He can still learn from your system then invest in himself when mommy and daddy give him money.
I did this very thing in couple of the local highschools and the kids got extra credit for after school programs. Then they got to show off during the school dances I got paid for.
Never underestimate your value or the value of the idea. Remember you can always make modifications during or after.
Or you can figure out how many classes it would take to complete courses and have a waiver signed the says something like a deposit would be made completion of the course will be returned at the end of the course. NOTE: ex amount will be deducted for every missed class. This way everyone wins and the students would have a reason to attend.
You dont want to be there waiting to see if someone will show or not each day do you.

@ fatkatzdj
if any one should be paying me, it's virtual dj corporate, for publicizing their software and offering free in person tech support and lessons.
but it' not about the money...
[] - it's about dj's helping out other dj's become better dj's
[] - learning to appreciate high ranked dj's
[] - giving recognition to those who know and have been in the know since long ago.
don't get me wrong, if i see that it's nothing but tech support all day, then i'll start charging. but if it's just a glitch here and there, who cares.
my main goal is to gather a bunch of dj's and let each one of them show what he/she can do as a professional dj and possibly teach us how to do it as well.
it's a real life community. hanging out, and so on.. this forum has so many users, and i have yet to meet one face 2 face.
as for that other concern... if virtual dj , or numark wishes to mail me laptops with the software installed and hardware to help publicize their gear, that's fine.. but i most definitely do not have enough gear for every one who will attend this class. i don't have a multiple computer license.. i just don't

after you explained it better for my understanding. Hell, as a source of like minded gatherers I would attend. If it works out, then maybe you can spread secret of your success and others locations can form. I would form a common place. I think the hardest thing wouuld be keeping the egos at check. You know the " I think I know more / better than you ". I hate Sh*t like that. Instead of what if or what about?
Good luck to ya!
The west is always in the discovery mode!!! Now go discover some new land and send a report back.

Ego's eg I have a black car! Yeah Well I have a black car! however it's blacker than yours!
I can't stand it either and it all comes from the fact that there is no qualification in DJing, so you find that people can say what they like! it's all usually bull shit. That's why i keep myself to myself and only discuss Dj related issues with DJ's that have the same reputation and standing as myself, If you talk to someone who has just started out or who has been djing all there live's but never got themselves booked every weekend due to not giving it there all and not been fully committed all you have is there complex kick in at every opportunity it's so boring! myself and my group of friends that dj don't pull these guy up anymore as were above correcting them n why should we teach them? there twats that think they know it all, we just exit there company and nothing more is said.
A good example: i am selling an amp on ebay this guy said i live local can i come have a look? I said yes, he came over and immediately asked me haw long i had been a dj for i said 11 years he then said i've done 30! at this point i just thought ok you older than me so what but then it just kept coming the guy had a massive complex. It was funny he said he uses 4ohm peavey's n 8 ohm bass bins linked he then added that he needed this amp as his was clipping i asked what amp he had n he said it was 800w per channel, i looked the model up and it was an 800w amp and had 8 channels! the fuckin dick was running at 100w per channel and wondered why it was clipping. But please remember and be respectful as he has been djing for 30 years, bollocks!
