Topic: One Up-ed by the "Old Man"

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Last week I took a week off from work and flew back to my Hometown in Ontario. I spent the week with my Father and showed my GF around my hometown and introduced her to some old high school friends who supplied her with much blackmail material.

For the benefit of some of you who might not know - In Canada traditional trades (plumber, carpenter, electrician,Auto Mechanic, machinist etc) MUST be licensed by the government to work in these fields. and To get the license requires several exams over a 5 year apprenticeship.

Here's my point.
My Father is an Industrial Electrician - got his License in the late 60's. I'm an Automotive Mechanic got My license a few years ago. Back in the 60's There was only single province licenses - If you moved to another province you had to be re-certified to work there. That's changed and my license is good across Canada.

When I went home I tried to give my dad a hard time by saying my license was in better standing than his cause I was good coast to coast.

He calmly informed me that He was waiting for his new license certificate to arrive in the mail.

He wrote another exam, and was just certified MASTER INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN (inter-provincial of course)

Never try to beat out the old man.

ps: I can't write the exam for Master Automotive Technician for at least 10 years. 15 years experience is the minimum requirement.
