OK, checking to see how many users have the EVO 5 already. I am working on MIDI mapping it out for Virtual DJ. Looking to get some feedback from users that may have it already. Wanting to know what functions users use most, for instance I have TCCD and the dennon 3500s, so I use pitch and looping functions from the Dennons, however I can map it out via midi for those that use internal mode.

I am planning to play EVO 5. I don't have TCCD or TCV whatsoever but i am interested in mapping effects through the mixer. Can VDJ send midi messages to Mixer? For example BPM value, effect names etc to the mixer display. It could be great! :)

Jaakko: Thats something you have to ask team, however not sure if your aware of this or not but the ECLER EVO5 has built in affects where you can throw effects on top of effects and have some new stuff. You can also create your own and share them with other EVO 5 users. I am using effects off the EVO 5 vs. using VDJ effects. However you can create a bank called effects and map all virtual dj effects to it.

i was really interested in the evo 5, but chose the a&h xone:3d because it has much more midi control buttons, knobs, sliders, etc. additionally, a&h has one of the sweetest sounding mixer lines IMO. the evo 5 is never generation and is also firewire which is very attractive, so im still half minded to try it out when i get the chance. however i am extremely happy with the xone:3d. Im not interested in mapping midi functions of things like crossfader, line volume, eqs and such. i use the xone 3d to control the none-mixer type stuff like track selection, effects, pitch, etc. to me this is much more important and i dont want the software to do the things a top-notch mixer does anyhow.

Precise BPM value is important for the effects like echo out. IF you do echo out beat mix to next song it really can sound very sweet. Does EVO recognize the beat automatically and how accurate it is? If it works well, there is no need to read bpm from VDJ.
Still displaying things like effect names could be so great. I hope VDJ team could support it natively or someone could write custom mapper as with DAC-3.

dont see why it would, the effects on the evo5 is onboard as mentioned. vdj doesnt output the effect names, youre talking about two different systems that dont overlap
