We met at latinos unidos record pool a while back, about a year before you left the pool. I know jeff and barry and a couplle of the other guys that where in the pool. I made the same move from clubs to full mobile, the money is a lot better. Glad to see i am not the only person in the area using VDJ.
How do you like the responsiveness of the software in comparison to the trusty old denon ? If i remember correctly your mixing style was very aggressive and on point, no room for latent response. Have you been able to find that and if so what are you running the software with ?

I like the response very much compate to all the other programs out there that I have purchase and try. By far virtual dj is the best software out there for mixing both music & video. I currently have two rack mountable pcs with 4 terabyte of hardrive space in each. I have my main machine loaded with all my video and mp3 and my secound has mostly video graffics. I run both machine into a v4 video mixer. The secound machine is also loaded with music in the very slight event that I will have to reboot. But that is rarely ever needed. I just have it as a back up because I am always running live show and mobile gigs such as weddings, birthday parties, sweet sixteens, corp events, etc. I just like to prepare for the un expected. I will someday update my profile to includ a picture of my wicked set up. Both the rackmountable pcs were built by a company called Dj Rak located in Marborough Ct.

No Smashvidz is not just for the US, we are in Australia and have been using them for about 3 mounths now. they send emails regularly with all new music videos and the email has direct links to download the new vid's.
You can also download any of the other vid's from there archives as well.
There technical support seems to be good as well we have never waited any longer than 24 hours from our email requests.
Still the only thing i don't like about them at this stage is tho logo on the clips, but even so i'm sure any of us could cover it up with the showlogo patch on this site..
For us this is the only place avalible for music video download at this stage, promo only do not seem to supply outside the US.
For those in Australia you can also get music video's from the following only through a subscription of VCD or DVD no download. SBA Music, VisualSounds and Nightlife Music Video whitch is Screenplay in the US.
I hope this answers some questions for some...

even the new ones? for over a month there is a standard title just like any other service. Ever seen the my12inch title? now thats ugly. There has to be titles on the videos. Titles is part of the promotion of the video. No way around it, unless you get the master from the label. CHeck it out for yourself.

LOL nice title ;-)
hey do they support file resume for crappy wireless connections like mine, like file hosts megaupload is great?
my connection drops every 30seconds to 6 hours depending on the venue, or wireless noise @ home.
i'd subscribe but i need to use a file manager either @ home or work.

Well I have been reading the post, and it seems that everyone is happy with Smashvidz.
Here's my question though. I am a mobile DJ (used to VJ at Universal Studios in Orlando) so everything I do is pretty mainstream. I do a lot of corporate events, weddings, decade parties, etc. so I am looking for a service that offers a pretty similar variety to Promo Only. I currently have PO's Hot Video and Country series, so I am able to get songs that are in various genres: Mainstream Radio, Modern Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop, Country. I don't want to lose a lot of the variety if I make the switch.
Are you guys finding that Smashvidz, My 12 Inch and/or Exclusive Grooves offer a similar variety? It pretty much sounds right now that everything from them is more Hip-Hop / R&B.
What r ur thoughts and suggestions?
Thanks...
Wayne

Smashvidz is 90% Urban, I can't be sure but it seems like they are fairly new, so I hope to see more balance in the future.
If you need a balance of genres and in volume, you should keep your promoonly subscription for now, but consider smashvidz a second subscription if you need lots of Urban remixes & edits, like I said I'd love to see more variety from them.

Lots of urban on Smashvidz but there is a reasonable collection of other stuff in the xtendz and dance. All reasonably newish tracks so you wont find the 'Love Shacks or 'Girls just wanna have funs' for the wedding djs. Thing is Promo Only is also US only, so I was stoked when these guys signed me up. No complaints on quality except with one or two where the audio is not mastered too well, but 99.9% are sweet (and I'm just fussy).

I just subscribed to smashvidz and I'm sort of disappointed with the selection
Hopefully they improve on dance tracks

So much for me using this service as I am not a Canadian citizen. I certainly could have put it to use as it would save me time from making xtends/edits myself.
