Ok i need to know if American Audio CK-1000 CD/Mixer COMBO W/Scratch FX work with VDJ, and will i be able to hook up turntables to use the virtual vinyl, will i also need to purchase other type of equipment to make this wrk.

Im thinking of purchasing SL1200 MKII, So i guess my question is what brands do i need to make everything wrk perfect with each other, and if i do go with turntables do i need to buy special vinyls & needles or any type of equipment to go with my laptop

Not sure about the mixer, but you will need the time coded Vinyls (they are located on this web site under Purchase). A sound card that supports 4-in-4 out like the maya44usb, u46dj or hercules mk2, etc.

No special needles are required that I'm aware of, although needles with better tracking and low record wear will obviously work the best, like the "Shure M44-7". Also, if you're going to purchase 1200's you might want to look at the SL-1210Mk5 model.

If you haven't purchase VDJ pro yet, Numark sells a complete package that inclusde the software, 2 Time Coded Vinys and CD's, and the sound hardware. It's branded as Virtual Vinyl and can be found on Numarks web site.

why the sl 1210mk5, are they better than mk2

Hi adrian, I wouldnt say their better because all of the 12xx series tables are top notch. But considering the prices for both models are pretty much the same, the 1210mk5's have a couple extra features. With that said, if you can get the Mk2 at a better price they're still a great tables

which are better turntables, SL-1200 mk2 or SL-1200 M3D

1) Mk5
2) M3d
3)Mk2

does any one know what the difference between the m3d and mk2

I dont even see the M3D listed on Technics web site. Was it discontinued? Anyway, I found this on another site...

All Technics 1200/1210 turntables use basically the same components except for some subtle improvements over the previous model.

MK2:
* +/-8% pitch adjustment, click at 0%

M3D:
* replaced click at 0% with pitch reset button
* replaced dust cover hinges with rubber pads
* spare headshell stand in base
* braking comes adjusted for longer drag

MK5:
* braking comes adjusted properly (MK2)
* larger cutout under platter to access braking adjustment without complete disassembly
* white LED popup light shouldn't ever burn out

M5G:
* 8/16% adjustment
* improved tonearm suspension
* all lights are blue

1210:
* European part number for various 1200 models - basically the same but includes voltage selector switch and european power adaptor and usually comes in black.

@adrian1.

I've had a pair of 1210's mk2 for about 11 years now. Never let me down. Solid as a rock. With a good set of needles on, probably the best Deck you will ever use. Many people may disagree, but I don't care,

Alot of these newer decks and makes are based on the Technic's 20+ year design, Fact.
