i have the behringer - greatest value speaker i have ever bought

pros - cheaper than thump by 100$ per, 400-450 watts combined, pretty light (less than 45), both 1/4 and xlr input, with xlr line output, durable, high and low eq on back, can tilt as monitor

thump - 3 eq on the back, perhaps better (live) sound because of mackie... but the bass on the behringer will be better from experience

i say you try 6 behringers first, then i know you will like them and buy 4 more

i no not as much about the thumps tho

I was talking to a sales rep at my preferred retail outlet. And I asked this very question. (I'm looking for zone speakers)

Tapco thumps or Behinger.?

He told me quite simply: The tapco's are "lumps" they've had a return/repair rate of 60%
Where the behringer have a return/repair rate of almost of almost 0.

His opinion only matters to his-self but - the repair invoices really matter to me.

Besides I've actually only heard good things about the 215a and 221a model powered speakers from people who actually own them.

I would recommend using ANY powered speaker with a properly set-up compressor to avoid burn-outs and blow-outs. Most have a decent compressor limiter built in. (My b-52 matrixV2 have one)
