Topic: A question about Music

Over the years I have collected over 40,000 songs ( The "educational" way). Now that said, I do not use this music anywhere else but my home. I do want to start a mobile gig but I don't want to use this music due to the possible consequences. What would be my best route from this point? Albums, singles, best of's....??

Or is it really that bad to use my current collection?

Any feedback is appreciated.

If you own the music, why wouldn't you want to use it? Perhaps not the originals but MP3 copies thereof. The beauty of VDJ is that your collectibles don't get ruined. However, it is a considerable task to get all that stuff into your computer.

I think what he is saying is the purchaser of the music is in question...hence copyright infringement might be an issue.........
 

I think the fastest way of building a collection up, the legal way is to sign up to something like Napster, or Yahoo if you are in the states.

I know the tracks are WMA, DRM files, and if you are happy with this, then fine, but there on programs out there that, which we all know about that can convert the files to high quality mp3's, that are your's to keep.

I hope you're not sharing those 40,000 songs via a file sharing app, the authorities would steam roll you if you are, i think you get charged a set fee per track.

So.... Set fee x 40,000 = Oh Dear !

I use napster, you effectively rent the music, you are free to download as much as you want whilst you continue to suscribe, is a cheap way to quickly build a large audio catalogue, plus you're guaranteed decent quality each time (No radio recordings etc)
