Has anyone made a test of what soundcard sounds the best (signal-to-noise ratio. Response Bandwidth , by ear etc.)

The problem is that everyones ears (and opinions) are different. What one person regards as good sound, may be terrible to someone else.
And even discounting opinions, specifications and numbers are not a foolproof way of doing comparisons of audio equipment, because of ears! The best specified kit doesn't necessarily sound the best.
Like the Pirates Code, they're more guidelines than actual rules :-)
So by all means choose something with a good spec, but use your own ears to seal the deal.

signal to noise ratio isnt something equated by opinion, the hardware has a rating for it. RME gear is 112.5 db rated, which is okay, not terribly loud but better than average.
as for the rest, yes its personal opinion. it also is based on your hearing quality. some people can hear 25khz, others can only hear 18khz. Any way you look at it, it deteriorates with age, but is also a personal thing. some quicker than others, some not.
