So you sat down & really thought about it & figured you'd ask for a Serato soundcard on the VDJ website? Priceless. Did you even google?

Hey I've had a really weird and unique insight.

Or even nuttier try Ebay

Why would you need a Serato SL1 ? You have the VV box.

The VV box runs alot better than a SL1in VV OR CUE OR VDJ, lower latency the outputs dont switch off during a change over.

if you disconnect a computer there will nothing outputed...
or do you mean the turntables are in bypass mode automatically getting whatever sound coming of the record to be outputed?
and if so... when you load up a VDJ/VV when someone connects a new computer wouldn't it automatically switch it back making it kinda of useless to have that option? that also means... which I guess is no big deal... carrying around a real song on vinyl to use during a switch over.

Well have him bring his box.... and you are right neither Serato OR Numark sell just the box... there is a reason for that. Now you might find one through ebay or other auction outlets.

i have a guess on the reason why..... hmmm let me say it...

but if he brings is box how would i make the dj switch in the middle of the event with out having an interruption in music. the way i looked at it was i can jus use the serato sound card and throw in a cd in one of the cdjs while he sets up his serato making it a smoother transition. n e 1 have n e other suggestions?

Why "Switch"? Why not set your stuff up and make him set his up? A simple channel on one or the others mixer will allow the single out to the PA.
Otherwise there will have to be a few seconds of downtime. You might even be able to use rca splitters.
You will figure it out.
And before you ask.... You can buy a car to get there at a dealership, a person selling one, or...yeah...eBay too. Or you could just have that guy pick you up on the way.

Isntead of buying the serato box. Ask your friend if he can lend you his for that night only. Hook up a separate cd player in one channel only to play a mixed cd while you are switching laptops.
