Hi im about to have a new laptop from dell and i want some advice on sound cards
the question is what sound card should i ask to have fitted so that i can play a track and monitor the other track at the same time im sure this must of been covered before

Personally I would recommend to use an external USB or firewire soundcard...

I'm using Creative X-Fi Express Card with my Dell, no problems at all.
 
Many thanks for your comments i will look into what you have suggested if anyone has any other comments or suggestions im still making up my mind what to have fitted thanks again for replying.

I Have a 0202/USB E-MU External Sound card for sale it cost me about 70.00 you can have it for 30.00 Please delete if not allowed to sell on forum

Question for djnrgbear is it complicated to set up atommix mp3 with the
Creative X-Fi Express Card ? so that you can listen to set and cue second track while the main track is playing ?

Are using a mixer with Virtual DJ? I have my headphones setup through my mixer. If you're not then you should be able to use one of the options under configuration/sound setup drop down menus. Very easy to setup. Hope that helps
 
Hi thanks for repling i have the output from laptop out from headphone socket and then that goes to a mixer that is connected to the twin cd player system.
Will wait for new laptop then have a go setting up as you sugest many thanks
