Topic: Just a Warning!

As mentioned in title. This is just a warning if you have not backed up your HD yet. I have a 60g HD that holds just videos. Everything was working perfectly over the weekend and I was breaking down 2 new video disc it work OK so I thought since I playing video games at the same time. Going in with VDJ DJ to test the work and the Drive kept hanging which crashed VDJ every single time. At first I thought it was certain song that kept crashing VDJ so I ripped those songs again and the same thing happened againg. I ripped another disc and tested that one as well with the same affect. Then it dawned on me that my drive was about to ZONK OUT. I tried to transfer all the files to my onboard drive and even that gave me trouble. Now I'm worrying because I have some files backup but haven't updated it recently and now I feel I'm about to lose 300 - 400 files.

I had to do it by each sub folder at a time so it wouldn't hang. Guess what's on my to do list today? I was thinking I least I would get a warning or something - BOBBLE HEADED of me right.

LOL @ AMAHM... very true, I just lost a development project I'd been working on for a while because I didn't back it up :(

I keep all my media backed up however, if anyone wants a nice easy way to do it then have a look at the MS utility robocopy :)
 
i beez backin' up like star jones at a buffet.

and i've been burning backup dvd's all day, after getting a hard drive enclosure kit and making sure i have everything doubled.

had so little sleep when i read that that i was punch-drunk...and i hate bein drunk without alcohol...

and been a little pissy lately at work both with management/owner/customer issues, not the least of which is a return of alot of X use around here. its starting to rival speed as the drug of choice. ....DEEP IN THA' HEART OF TEXAS! yep, kinda slipped out there...

Fat is right tho. alot of us never take the time to back things up we have 1TB drives for each club, but did we remember to back up what was at home? nooo. and i know of some that never back up anything and then panic when they cant get access to those 20,000 songs they got off of limewire.
it's been a long slow tedious week so far, and it ain't even started.
