you will have to get external software something like "karaoke song list maker" www.airwer.com has a limited free to try but maybe best to put a google out, there's quite a few out there and it just means you shopping about for whats best for your needs and best deal

Hi...you could try this website which provides a free to try program for writing song books for you...otherwise put a search on google for 'karaoke song book writer' or something like that...

you should be able to select which fields you want to display on your print out list, check again, in the mean time if you could tell us which software you are actually using please.

I don't think you have to change everything around manually in VDJ; there is an easier way. If your files are zipped, you can get a copy of MP3Toolz.NET 4 (free), unzip them all and edit them in Tag&Rename (not real expensive), get the tags right if they are backward (the software has a "swap artist and title" option), then choose a naming scheme (or create one, I use disc#-track# - title - artist.mp3), rename the files (Tag&Rename also updates the .cdg file with the same name automatically), and zip them back up (be sure and set the compression in MP3Toolz.NET to "5-Default compression," or they won't work in VDJ!!).

EDIT: I just remembered...If you're in a pinch for a quick list, you can export the information from Tag&Rename as a .csv file, import into Excel, sort the way you want, then print a list from there ;)

doc, thats an awful long way about when the software will do that for him all he has to select is the fields he wants in his print out

WHOA STOP!!!! You guys didnt see that he was fixing these files within VDJ, That DOES NOT change the TAGS, so now the work he did will NOT show up on any software he uses to make his books as they are in the VDJ DATABASE!!!!

You need to change the names on the FILES THEMSELVES outside of VDJ.

That's one of the reasons I suggested the Tag&Rename method above, Brian...I agree. It would be an awful shame to do all that work only to risk losing it to a database problem. It should be done outside of VDJ, certainly. I've spent a lot of time getting everything right in the tags themselves in order to prevent possible issues - so far, so good ;)

EDIT: Perhaps I should have said "better" rather than "easier" hehe.

Thanx you guy's and gal's youve been a real help i'l get there some how i will try tag&rename
peace

Good luck; I'm sure you'll make it ;)

Take some time to explore the features of Tag&Rename. It's pretty powerful software. I couldn't do without it now, lol.

song list generator for books it removes duplicates out of the book after it scans your hd for all of the files you have...and a renamer on the same site is kj file manager...cost of each only $79.00...but the best part is they actually work
