I've got problems with the new Timecode Engine.
When i play 2 songs having the same bpm the songs run away very fast (after 10 sec)
It hast the effect of a very big flutter so the song jumps a little bit forward and backward. But when i switch back to the v4 Timecodeengine everything works fine again.
I'm using the FS open Soundcard. Clear sound ist off, safe mode & overclock ist activated.
What is the problem here? Please help me!!!

Did you reconfiger the 5 engine? Pressing Auto config?
Also, make sure you manually adjust the silence slider, possibly all way down, and set pitch sensitivity to zero

Ok i solved the problem:
I switchen the latency in VDJ to "auto" - that was it :-)
Thankz for your help!!!

I've never switched the latency to anything but "auto", but I am still having trouble using my V5 engine. It skips a beat, the songs on either deck goes backwards or forwards. But when I switch to V4 engine. It works fine. Can somebody help.
Thanks

Try these additional settings for v5 engine ONLY :
- Pitch sensitivity to zero
- Silence slider all the way down
did that fix it ?

No, that did not sovle the issue. It actually makes it worse when I make those settings.

Ok, so v4 engine works great for you..
Reason its put back, is that the v5 engine needs a bit of futher tweaking...
Its sensitive to soundcards and settings, and what would be correct for your soundcard is hard to tell...
But generally if in problems with v5 engine, turn off clear sounds, soundcard to auto latency in VDJ, and adjust pitch sensitivity until it works good.
If v.4 engine works better for you, I'd rather use that though ;)

I have two sound cards, Herc MK2 and Behringer UCA202 USB sound card. I have two cards because I can listen to my mixes in WMP and listen to songs on the internet. I want to use v5 engine, this is what we all waited for and there are still bugs that need to be tweaked? Incredible.

Be careful, "v5" doesn't mean that you have to use the new engine in priority because you think this one is new so better. That's a mistake because it's only another engine for some users. Both engines are different and both are usefull depending on what you need (read the features post written during the release !!!)
In conclusions, noone said that the v5 engine is better, it's only another engine for VDJ. There is a mistake in your mind due to a bad interpretation or understanding:

Timecode:
- new engine "VDJ Timecode v5" for VirtualDJ vinyls, optimized for scratch (the old engine "VDJ Timecode v4" optimized for needledrop is still available)

You now have 2 engines so just select the best one for you. Personnaly I prefer the v5 engine and it works for me.

So why does v5 work for you and not me? What are your settings?

It doesn't work for me either, It could be a whole load of reasons why. I'm I disappointed, Yes , but I'm grateful the I have the old timecode engine to work with.
As DJcel has said all because it's new, it doesn't mean it will work. We just have to wait and let the Dev do there job and fine tune it.

guess what? I use 2 tcvs with Ls 1200s , and I actually have to configure each on a different engine( v5 left, and v4 right)..is that normal?

LOL, now that's funny mate. I don't think so mate, I would try to run both on the V4 till V5 is sorted.

Yeah, I never read that one before. It should be one or the other, right?
geposted Tue 17 Jun 08 @ 6:15 am
It is possible and may be necessary in unique cases. For example, Using TT with 2 different needles may produce different results of quality in the signal and you may need the V4 engine for one deck while the other can take advantage of the V5 engine. But using 1 on one side DOES NOT limit you or force you to use a different engine on the opposite side.
Also, if you think about it -- you could use VirtualDJ Timecode on the left and Noisemap for SSL Vinyl on the right -- if you only had 1 vinyl of each type.

Well if you are not using a Noisemap Vinyl like the SSL Vinyl -- it won't work for you.
