Topic: Timecodes track 100% but do not control music

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hey everyone, I have a timecode related problem I cant seem to find any answers too anywhere and just wondering if anyone is having the same problem or knows of a solution...

I'm running virtual DJ 5.0.7 with the SSL box and timecodes. Upon config, i get 100% tracking and everything works fine for about 20-30 minutes.

Now i know alot of people have posted problems similar to this that there timecodes stop working after that duration of time. My problem is the time codes continue to track perfectly and scratch movements are represented accurately on the VDJ internal decks, BUT even with the TC button activated, the movements of the vinyl timecodes stop affecting the music playing. When i turn the TC button off i can do everything internally as expected. With the TC button activated, it once again tracks the SL vinyl perfectly and displays it with in the software as i mentioned but once again no change in the song playing when i move the record.

So the conclusion i've come to is that there is some internal software problem that is dropping the link between the aquired timecode signal (which is 100%) and the actual song itself.

I'm not sure how well i explained this but i cant put it into words any better. If anyone else is having this same problem where tracking and virtual representation is fine but is not controlling anything.. please reply or better yet post a solution if there is one.

Thanks in advance

hey man... i have the same problem sometimes and i am assuming you are using cds...

the thing is, it seems that from 11:45 to 12 minutes on the cd, it looses its "grip" on the music for some reason. so i suggest you reset the track more often.

and it might help to register your software ;)

hey lamont, Im using SL vinyl timecodes and as i mentioned they continue to track perfectly. If i stop the deck the real vinyl and virtual one in the VDJ environment both come to a stop at the exact same time and vica versa same when i start up the record (along with any scratch movement i make). When i check my config settings i get a nice clean signal and tracking is perfect.

I've tried combinations of pausing and stoping and needle dropping when changing tracks and i still seem to get the same problem so im kind of completely lost as to exactly what the problem is.

I'm not sure if i've let the record go past the 12 minute mark while playing and experimenting with this problem, so i'll play a set next time paying attention to that for sure and see if thats the culprit. Thanks for info, much appreciated

Interesting you guys know the demo version time code doesn't work past 5 minutes.

? didnt know that... demo? what do you mean by that? i burned my own and at 11:45 to 12 (end of track), the virtual circles track with the record but the music doesnt change... hmmm

but yea, try resetting the record more

I'm not using a demo version of anything so im not sure what you mean by that, but i know i've played a track longer than 5 mins and dropped in a new one and it was still working before the loss of connectivity.

The 20 day trial version. Anyone who is an un-licensed user should not have access to longer periods of use than five minutes with time code. Unless they are doing something naughty.....
