i have a new used technics sl-1200 mkII turntable and have a ortofon om pro needle. i was wondering whethere anyone knows any sites out there which could direct me to tune it so that it doesnt skip during scratching...

Well it could be a few things causing the skips. Is the needle new? if so it will need a break-in period. how much weight is set on the tonearm? it should be 3-5 grams i think i read on that needle, but if you need more then just do it, hold that thing down...keep in mind too much weight is just as bad. Is the turntable on a solid surface?
I don't think that is the best choice for a scratch needle but thats not to say it can't work either.
