Topic: not familiar with Camelot .....

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

" 'tis a silly place " .......said Monty Python knowingly .....

in the Chuck standard normal system , C has a for the minor , the 4th is F , 5th is G etc ......

so how does the Camelot system work ?

how does 1a relate to 1b ? etc ... can they stand each other ...

basically.. rather then reading and understand music notes on a scale, Camelot is just a simple number system, so if you have a song that is a 5 and want to mix harmonically you should only use a song that is a 4, 5(perfect match) or 6. A perfect match or the closer the number the better the harmonics.

I think MixMeisters system is a little easier to use, more accurate? If you had a track which is 4A, you can either next go: 3A, 4A, 5A or 4B. VirtualDJ seems to have presented all my music as Minor.

Also don't forget that changing the tempo will change the key of your music, so if you are going by this system you'll want Master Tempo enabled.

Look here Chuck...this explains it...

I never use Master Tempo, but I try not to vary my pitch by more than 2-3%....so experiment with what works best for you.

thanks gents .....

yeah the trax that have a key are all minor ?? and many have no key ??

Thanks Teary .... did anyone ever crowbar AMaHM out of his er predicament ??

Andrew that's the cycle of fifths in that chart ........

He's posted Chuck..but it was muffled, and garbled...so I am not sure....

well I'm glad I'm not the only newbie to this harmonic thing....can anyone explain a little more about the key determination system that is included in VDJ 5.1? I had purchased thrid party software "mixed in key" to scan my files for keys. The key that MIK software posts follows the Camelot system, and I have mine set to add the info to the comment in the tag, so that it is viewable in VDJ. Now with 5.1 key scanning, is all over the place......the keys do not seem to match...Is the VDJ key supposed to be following the "camelot" protocol also? Why are the keys not matching?
