i hope this will be a really memorable Olympics

i hope we see yet again some stirring examples of human achievement and physical and spiritual triumph .......

perfect landings planted on broken ankles , runners poring there last ounce into crossing the finish line ....( 2 hours after the winner ).......chuck will take the guy with no quit anytime .......

anywhoo ......let's leave the politics at home for 2 whole weeks ok ???????? if you REALLY dig that crap , i promise we can do twice as much for a week or so and catch up ......

i know it's stupid and naive .... but heaven forfend ... i'd like to see what the athletes can do

Unfortuanatley Chuck the olympics have NEVER been about sports as far as the governments are concerned. They have ALWAYS been about political agendas, at least in the modern times since the Berlin Olympics, Hitler and Jesse Owens, the USA & Russian Basketball, German (and other nations) steroids, Remember Mexico City, Montreal, The Russian Boycott, The US Boycott, The Track & Field Doping, The Bribing and site selection scandals............and you don't think China was selected to help expose the environmental, sociological and emotional damage their government inflicts so they can become and economic power and the rest of the world can buy cheap stuff!

With that being said I am glad we got back to the business of sending our BEST basketball players instead of the gangsters, thugs and stiffs we have been sending (apologies Mr. Duncan that does not refer to you)

In the UK news yesterday. One of the UK female rowing team was not chosen to participate in the UK olympic team so because she had dual nationality she is rowing for the USA. Go on girl go for gold. The irony is that her local pub in Oxford raised some of the cash so that she could go to the USA.
 
see we still help the bloody yanks out, even if it is one our cast offs, how isotonic err i mean ironic, those raised funds will be worth even more now, suppose you could say its a donation to one of those developing nations, lol

 
leave it to politicians to ruin a good thing. Sportsmanship and a healthy spirit of competition is universal and knows no borders
 
olympics don't mean sh1t.. well these days. athletes from "important sports" do it for nothing. they make way more money off their teams/leagues..

also my hats off to the Chinese people .... apparently they have a thing called pride , and they would like themselves and there country remembered in a positive light .........................

anyone change channels yet ?? knock , knock anyone in there ??? ooh knocking on yer forehead causes a hollow percussive sound ....

i couldn't hep but notice they sure can sing there national anthem ...... and no butt cracks or underwear showing ..... i wish we could master those complex skills
