VIDEO MIXING

I began using the keyboard to mix.. (no one took me serious)
then to the Dac3 (great controller... except buttons small) started getting into scratching... jog wheels here useless
currently - I am using CD Players (Axis 9) with TCCDs, x-session midi controller (works great) except now everything is bulky

Future - wanting to set up a smaller system (with laptop) with a controller that allowed for scratching etc.
a new system.. still planning to keep the old system

These are the following that I came up with.. using a laptop

CD-400 - not getting enough buzz on it the forum... to suggest that this is worthwhile (plus its expensive) still would need a fader/mixer (still bulky)
Total control - great.. but not worthwhile for scratching
N7 - has all u need but.. expensive and bulky
Vestax - 300 - large enough jog wheels, good for scratching, (price high but affordable - beats buying CDJ - 400) portable... probably the ideal player.... midi.. but... built for Serato Itch..... just wondering how possible is it to work with VDJ??

Any one has any other options here???

Well,

I'm no expert, but I did some reading on the VMI-300 and it appears to just be a MIDI controller, which means it SHOULD be mappable to any software that supports MIDI inputs.

I'm sure the folks at Vestax aren't pushing this notion since they mainly designed it with Itch in mind. It looks like a pretty slick piece of hardware though. The VMI-100 looked like the end all be all of MIDI controllers for DJ's, but apparently, the new VMI-300's jog whells are 4x more sensitive than the VMI-100, and you can adjust the torque!

I'm not planning on getting one, but it likes pretty nice. I'd wait for a reply from a moderator to be sure about VDJ compatability, though.
