To play videos and do searching etc. is a lot for a laptop to do at the same time. You will need a high spec machine or at least a large amount of memory. I use videos more and more so i ended up building a high spec rack mounted computer. See if any other helpful info comes via forum or you can PM me if you need further info.

Unfortunately i have the same problem that the display freezesometimes. Only a quich restart helps. :-(
I have deactivated all Energy settings and Sceensaver, also have my external Soundcard (M-Audio Firewire Audiphile) and Controllers (NTC) there own power.
The Energy USB Settings in he Controlcenter didnt have a Save Energy Function.
Its seem to be a little bit better when i deactivated overclocking
But i'am looking for more hints too.

I've had this happen a couple of times with my machine in the middle of a gig, and it seems to be when for some reason the hd is a bit slow to respond, just the machine being busy I guess. However, you may want to see if you can play about and test this, It always comes back eventually, and I think the "eventually" will depend on each different machine. On mine, it normally comes back within 30s tops. And it always happens when I move the browser to a directory that has more than about 5000 files in it. Think it may be windows general slowness at accessing directories with lots of file in.
If you can live with the nervous bum twitching seconds when you think your machine is about to die, it will come back. But to be fair the music never stops, but I avoid touching it whilst it freezes and just let it find it's own way home.
Unless of course you only have 20 seconds left of the song playing when it happens, then it could be embarrassing silence time!
