I’m considering buying a Maya44 for my desktop (core duo 4600 2mg ram). Is there any difference for me buying USB or a Soundcard? Will Maya44 offer better sound stability than non ASIO soundblaster

Well that helps me a lot, does not answer my question. The club I work in has a shit sound system, perfection in sound quality is not imortant, just good function which I believe Maya 44 will give me.

Well, that's your opinion my friend. Me I think it's a good all rounder and alot of guys would agree.
I've had one now for about 6 months (USB version) use it with my TCV and I haven't had any issues with it, on my old XP gig laptop and now my new Vista gig Laptop.
I would say to you go with the USB version as it can be used in many setups, and has more options.

i have 1 maya 44 ...and i know what i talking about ... It's not a good soundcard ... but works .
from 1 to 10 maya 44 is 5 points -
You don't need asio if you will not use Time coded - Sound Blaster is better (and cheaper) , no doubt -

I can't speak for the Soundblaster, but I can say that the Maya44 USB is a good card. Im not saying it's the best but, I have a Maya44 USB. And it's never let me down best of all it's small to carry anywhere, easily and for the price I think it's a great card
I picked mine up for like $120.00 , I've had it for over one year and it works perfectly. Just make sure you download the latest version especially if your using Vista.

The HC4500 was an excellent choice Chris. I have one also and it's super sweet, If you have Vista you may have to download the latest version for it on another PC. Or it will crash yours everytime you try to connect to your USB port.
Anyway good look cuz! Enjoy it, it's alot of fun don't forget to download JPBoogie's mapper to, real sweet combination :)

can anyone help! been using the software for quite awhile now but only for music video purposes at the club. we've been trying to hook up 2 technics, allen & heath xone 62 mixer using the maya 44 usb sound card we've just purchased. no one here can seem to figure out why we keep getting error messages such as (not enough chanels, error in asio driver, e.t.c. )
(tried reinstalling numerous times also)
if anyone knows what it is that we are doing wrong your help would be much appreciated.
thanks!

maya44 was my first soundcard for TCV , was perfect for me 3 or 4 years before , but I discovered a lots of good soundcards with better sound and without problems - If somebody wants a cheap solution maya is ok , but with poor quality .
If you are PRO dj maya is not for you -

Maya44USB is fine..... When you set you rig up the most common thing to do is plug stuff in the same places...duh! if you load the drivers on all ports you are fine anyway.
I have never had a problem in 5 years and still have the same one. Lucky me I guess. I use single time code and the total control as a mixer. Everything works fine and I love all of the options.

Maya44 is an alright card. It's stable but you will not get the same quality as you would with say the audio 8 or connectiv.
Also the maya44 has quite a low output which is rather annoying.
Other than that it will be fine & nobody will bea ble to tell the difference.

Still I want to hear what you recommend, because I have a maya 44 and a u46dj soundcard and I just cant hear the difference, once you understand the setup of the maya,it's smooth sailing. And even if you are a pro dj the maya 44 is a good standby soundcard. So please post what you recommend and I personally will buy that soundcard and try it.Thanks in advance

Audio8 dj - but I know ...we are talking about another level of price .
Maya is Ok ...works , but is not the best solution - you can hear some strange noises if you put in low latency . IF latency & sound is not priority
you can use it .
Good soundcards : Hammerfall RME
M-Audio Conective (low price and better than maya)

Ive heard so many pros and cons about the maya 44 card and was told I need the 4in and 4out hook-up...could this be used the same as the Maya 44
FAST-TRACK-PRO 4in/4out Mobile USB Audio/MIDI Interface
Looking at that connections it just doesnt seem like the RCA in and out connects are equal to the maya 44
I'm trying to set up 2 CDJ's, external Mixer and laptop setup?
