single or duel core? and XP all the way!!! vista just hogs the processor n i hate it! (n i know a lot about computers n software n have even worked in the industory before) compared to XP anyway if you need fast processor and the power i would recomend XP by far maby i just hate vista but personally i love XP n if u can try installing both (only if u know what ur doing tho n use a serpate partition) and see whats quicker my bets defintly on XP!

DJ software works best with XP. Its more stable and more Latency. Vista Is now getting better compared to when it first cam out.

single core
It is a celeron proc. Not a very high-end machine but it was designed to be used with vista.
Hopefully i can find appropriate drivers.
I am going to give xp a try on it.

The problem with XP is that all the newer higher power video cards that can do the beautiful DirectX 10 3D effects only have drivers for VISTA. So if you have XP with a pretty new video card, you will be limited on transitions and effects.

Is there a difference in Vista 16 or 32 bit? Anyway go with Mac, LOL just that's what I use for now.

It can really depend on your set up. I have the Denon HS-5500 and the MIDI connections do not work very well in Vista. I ended up making my laptop dual boot and switching to XP for VDJ.
