i got my total control today and am running vdj5.2 on a laptop with windows vista with an internal and external soundcard and everythign on the total control is working fine except the volume controls and the crossfader has anyone else had this problem on know how to remedy it? any help would be greatly appreciated

What is wrong with the volume faders and the crossfader? Do they just not work at all?
 
yes but i bought it brand new so i dont think its just not working but i came back on to note it has to be the controller because i tired it with my hercules dj control mp3 and the fader and volume controls worked fine,its odd cause when i push play on the left (blue) control the music is very faint even when i use the mouse to put the volume all the way up but no problem on the right control
 
What, exactly, is it doing?...not moving at all?...moving, just not fast enough?...Please be specific....One thing to remember with the Total Control is, if the gain knob is turned down on the unit...the gain in VDJ is down...so, keep that in mind.
 
i appreciate the help the volume/crossfader sliders are fine on the console but in the program they have no effect on the volume/crossfade on the screen the only way i can adjust the volume is to use a mouse on the screen so like i said they slide fine but they have no effect whatsoever on the songs that are playing in vdj,they dont even slide on the screen i wasnt sure if this was a problem with vista but like i said the left channel volume is very faint ever turned up all the way with the mouse but when i use a hercules dj mp3 controlteh volume is fine
 
OK..have you tried to update the Total Control firmware?
 
no not sure where i could find that,ive been looking for drivers but it is a driver free usb operation,excuse me by the way im very computer illiterate
 
found it on the site and am waiting to see how it goes i will post in a little while thanks for the help folks
 
I just recently bought a NUmark Total Control unit that came with Trak le 3 and the Cue Le 5....I was able to install the Cue le 5 but will not initialize due to not detecting controller. It states " The Controller has not been detected. Please plug in and Start Cue again." I did and still nothing. I even installed it in three other laptop and one desktop. All the pc have the minimum requirements and exceeds the requirements. I do not have a problem with the Trak software. I was wondering if anyone has any advice.
 
no advice my firend but i had trouble getting the total control to work with virtual dj (the volume and crossfader werent working) I contacted numark and they told me to install cue and see if the ontroller worked with cue and i got the same messege that you got so i dont know,i sent them an email and am waiting for a response but i am still looking for help

my total control volume and crossfader dont workin virtual dj,everything else does,ie pitch,effects,etc,i installed firmware and am still having this problem,does anyone know a way i can remedy this?

I never had any issues with it and vista it always worked fine
but i have heard other people with the same prob and they still have it which version of vista u have the 32 bit or 64 bit
 
i believe im running 32,im not to sure idont know much about computers and specs and such but i had a friend of mine who is a genius with computers working on it for 5 hours and couldnt solve anything so im not expecting much im probably just gonna say with the hercules dj control mp3 and hold on to the total control to see if i might be able to make use of it in the future

when you move the crossfader on the total control, the crossfader on the skin moves or remains fixed?
 
it remains fixed and has no effect also the volume happens the same way
 
maybe an hardware problem of the total control.
to be sure that your total control is not broken, may you test it in another pc?
 
Have you tried a different USB cable? The cable might be bad...

i don't think that is a usb cable problem because the others controls are working...only two controls seems broken(volume controls and the crossfader )
 
I tried a different usb but not the total control on a different pc but in corresponding with numark they told me to try it with the cue softwareand i did and i had the same problem another person had in that it didnt even load cue because it didnt recognize the controller
 
yeahh man i just got my numark total control about 3 or 2 days ago and my cross fader and volume dont work on cue? but on tracktor it does whats the problem??
 
it sounds like a sound card problem if the volume on the screen moves up and down with the mouse and nothing differs on sound volume...its got to be soundcard or drivers make sure you have the asio drivers installed and configured! total control only controls via midi meaning there is no type of sound audio or video coming from the control...its all from your computer sound card or external soundcard....i have total control with the djio sound card it works just fine for me...then i did have many little issues while learning about drivers, settings and so on....usually its a system problem. also it could be a mapper problem not sure if you can remap for vdj 5.2...i use my lappy all the time and never had a issue with the total control or vdj...then again i have my laptop settings for maximum performance and very low visuals meaning there is no fancy visuals on my windows, no transparent colors no gadgets on...just plain simple windows...though i do run vista 32....my system runs flawless when i run vdj, my cpu usage sometimes barely goes up 1 green bar if not even that on regular mp3..now when i run video...it goes up maybe 2 bars...still very low usage. so yeah i run flawless. i love vdj...i recommend to everybody to turn off all fancy visuals and boost the performance...you will have very good results. now that checked...make sure that on vdj settings options...make sure your crossfader is not turned off, set it on full or smooth which ever feels best for you...this setting does affect the slider on the control when when set to off mode...if set to off, it will not move or do anything when trying to use it....i hope this is your problem and gets fixed.
