The second one offcourse but it costs more. You can use cheaper one for audio but none of this is good for video use.

at what price ranges are video laptops...any you recommend? I was planning on just doing audio but if i could get a laptop for video for a couple more money I would just get that instead.

For video I'd say CPU @ 2.6 or higher, at least 3gb RAM and a graphic card
in 300$ + price range (I don't know which ones are preferenced for VDj,
but I'm sure someone will point out).

The weak point of those laptops are in integrated video card in chipset, so no video use with them. For that money you can take some MSI model (2 years warranty) with some ATI 2600 card with its own memory, at least 256MB ddr3 is recommended.

Thanks...I think I'm going to stay with sound only for now........so how about the first laptop? Good? Bad? For the specs and price? (for sound ONLY) Is there really a HUGE difference between both that would want me to buy the most expensive one instead?

BTW I will be using it with a Hercules RMX & MK2(backup)

The first one has a bigger screen and more usb ports,
having more usb ports are always handy, but then you could also just get a usbhub.
