So I've had a pair of powered 15 inch LM series Carvin speakers for a few months now. I had a gig the other day which provided the speakers for me so I didnt have to bring mine over, which just so happened to be JBL eons. I was excited at first to try out the Eons with my equipments until I got things rolling. I honestly learned to appreciate my speakers because I did not like the eons at all. I found that not only were my Carvin speakers louder but much more crisp sounding. Anyways, just wanted to tell you guys you might want to look around before buying your speakers. I paid around 800 for both my speakers which is about half the price of equivalent JBLs. Anyways, I hope this helps some of you out I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on speakers...

Only saving grace about JBL is they are usually built like a tank.

Thanks for the advice Iv'e had cheap speakers and hated the crap sound quality and having to repair them all the time so I personally wouldn't buy JBL, peavey, cerwin etc but some may consider it so your advice is great after all i think its about time they stopped making all this crap, and i think they should clamp down on china and India as most the stuff that comes out of these country's is utter junk. I would rather pay that little bit more and get the quality back, most of my gear is USA made. My speakers are Italian (FBT) and feature B&C components.

For many months, ive been telling people about carvins because they rock. I owned a pair of JBL eon 1500 speakers and i sold them to buy the PM15s. The carvins have more boom and the highs are a better...
Why spend alot of money buying from sam ash, gutar center, I DJNow, Top Dj gear, musicians freind etc.... You are buying speakers from a middle man. When you buy from Carvin.com you buy speakers direct from the company that makes them and you will save a hell of alot of money.. The carvin speakers use Eminence drivers.

Opinions are funny.....and diverse.

Like the people here in this other post I would put Carvin in the same class as Peavey.
I owned Peavey equipment for years, I've used other people's Carvin equipment in the past and I OWN JBL equipment right now.
Like I said....

i use to work for a sound/speaker repair jbl is one of the best speaker company out there as long you stay away from eon series / m-pro
series /jrx series / mrx with jbl the only way to go is srx series they perform very good the only down side is they are very expensive and of course you have to have the horse power behind them. and always remember if you try to get 2000wtts out of a 500 wtts system is not going to happen 99% of the of all damage equipment is cause because people try to get more of the equipment in other words you have enough wtts to cover 100 people and you are trying to do a party of 500 people. most of the damage done to a speaker is cause by distortion or to much power.
