Under the buy section the website states that since I'm a Cue user I get a 250 dollar discount on VDJ pro and I can get it for only 50 dollars! What a great deal! Oh wait, I thought they were the same program... Can anyone explain this? Is there seriously a difference between Cue and VDJ besides the look that I should want to pay an additional 50 dollars for? Or is this just an attempt to milk naive people for all theyre worth.

There really aren't differences, but updates are sooner.
We will leave it at that.
The last impression we want to make is that we milk naive people for all they are worth.
Nobody is forcing you to make this change, its all up to you.

the diference, numark cue & vdj, is the name, updates came first in vdj,if you need support numark have support for this, vdj pro you can apear map online numark cue nop,cue has the same like the vdj,for me is better cue, because i have the software w me,i hear alot problems w vdj,i know the vdj was the first, the most people have problem w controler w vdj, numark cue work w total control is perfect for this software,(vdj is the same w numark cue is only the name.)

Well, people from Atomix have stated several times that the only difference is that Cue is sold in a box and VDJ is sold by download.
There should be NO difference at all as far as we've been led to believe from admin here.
So, in this case I think something dodgy is going on ...... if they are identical apart from the name then why would one pay to "upgrade"
Here we go again .......

So, why charge $50 to upgrade to something that is the same. I would guess the cost of boxing and reselling Cue would come off the top line, so surely VDJ online should be cheaper, not the other way around?

Hello!
I'm an Italian user....
I have upgraded to vdj from virtual vinyl (cue) because i have problems with a lot skins....i can't use v-mix, mix lab 3.1, cue rmx and other pro users skins....
Cue give me "error line 0" for logo incompatibility!
I use vdj for videomix and i need a dedicated skin...so , to resolve this problem i migred to vdj....
Sorry for my bad english...
Ciao!

Ive never heard of errors being fixed by jumping to cue. That's interesting if it actually helped even though thats kinda not fair...
Still, I don't agree with us having to pay an additional amount of money because of whatever reason we ended up getting cue. And, if this is the case shouldn't it be mentioned where it explains Numark cue on the website?

If you're happy with Cue then whats the problem?
For those who want to change from Cue to Virtual DJ, the option is there.

Not sure if this makes any sense but here I go....(you may have to read it twice, I'm still hungover!)
When you purchase a new laptop, if it's this years model, you get Vista installed. If you want to install XP on it you have to purchase it at an extra cost and I don't think Microsoft offers a discount. Both are made by the same company and are almost identical but you still have to pay to change the OS. AND any company that sells the rights to their product to another manufacture are in no way obliged to sell their original product for cheaper to someone that wants to switch over. I'm actually amazed that VDJ is willing to give such a large discount to someone who purchased a product from another supplier. In my opinion this is wrong. I've never heard of this kind of practice. No beer company has ever offered me a discount to switch over to their brand. By VDJ selling there product for $50 or whatever (to switch) to someone that has purchased it from another company they make their product look like it's only worth $50. Why did I (or we) pay so much for it???
Is it true that you can't use Virtual DJ skins in Cue and updates are quicker for VDJ? If it is I'm glad I chose VDJ... The same goes for a computer that was purchased with XP. In many cases you cannot install Vista due to outdated drivers for the existing hardware. You'll then need to change some of your hardware to upgrade if you didn't inquire 1st if drivers are readily available for vista. Best thing to do is really do your homework before putting the cash down for any purchase.

Some versions of Vista allow you to swap to XP for free - have a look at downgrade rights.

I agree with everthing you've said but I'm glad that VDJ did this. I was wishing they did this a long time ago but now I have to delay the order and recoupe my finances since I've been off DJing for about a month. I thaught about this a little - Yes, you do get the updates on a timely bases but I like having Cue delayed a couple of weaks because by the time I get it there are no bugs or issues. Usually you VDJers have to get a rev update to fix the fixes... lol
As far skins go. I have about 3-4 different skins downloaded depending on what control I use or if I use video that night. Some skins automatically switch the logo from VDJ to Cue and some just say VDJ on it.

I downloaded skins from VDJ and most of it really works with CUE/VV. As for logo issue i just relocate and resize the VV logo on any part within the skin where i want too, pretty elementary thing to do... thus i showed support to the two similar software at the same time and promoting/avoiding confusions to some of my audiences and fellow dj's.
