my gain control goes up and down by itself is that normal i would turn it up and it goes down on my computer

This will happen during track load as the program analyzes the track for the first time.
Once the track is analyzed, this should not happen.
Select "auto & remember" in config/options under gain.
 
Essentially you have to spend a little time to let the software analyze (scan for BPM) all your tracks. Loading it without being analyzed will give you the problem your saying. Cue markings and others can be done any time when you use VDJ.

Pardon me if i'm wrong but LE version doesn't have an access to Option page, that's on my LE that came with my TC, maybe rmx has...not sure...
