 Moving Cached Files

Q. Can I move my Online Music songs to another folder and/or drive?

By default, cached Online Music songs are stored in the VirtualDJ\Cache folder on your main system hard drive. This folder location cannot currently be changed, but you can optionally move cached songs out of this folder and put them in any folder of your choice, including a folder on an external hard drive. However, if you do this, the songs will not be automatically renewed when starting the software.

If you intend to use the songs off-line with no Internet connection, then you will need to renew them manually. We would recommend doing this just prior to going to your gig.

To refresh the songs manually, make sure that you have an active Internet connection and then browse to each drive/folder where cached songs are located. Hold down either SHIFT or CTRL to select the appropriate files, then right-click on them (Or CMD+click on a Mac) and choose the option to Refresh DRM.

If you have cached content in multiple locations, creating a filter folder to find all the files to re-authorize is a better option. Create a Filter Folder with the script: filetype=vdjcache. This will ensure that the folder only contains Online Music songs, then you can press CTRL+A (PC) or CMD+A (Mac) to select all files. Right-click and select Refresh DRM to re-authorize the cached files.

NOTE: If you have an active Internet connection and attempt to load an expired song, it will be renewed automatically, but this may result in a delay loading the song.
